    [pant pant] Oh, Mr. Darcy.....

PBS (in my neck of the woods at least) is showing "Pride and Prejudice." I am truly enjoying the quiet but deep and soulful rumblings of Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy.

Seriously - who needs wine when I can watch this???

Ah, Colin Firth, hubba, hubba....(fans self) Colin Firth in anything! I wonder if he'll have his shirt off during the movie version of "Mamma Mia"! Have they gotten to the "wet t-shirt" moment yet in "P&P"? (applies cool tea towel to throat) How his bitchin' bod does make literature come alive...I'm a big (and meowing) fan...

When will we Americans get to see his St. Trinian's that came out last year over in the UK?

I highly recommend you get the soundtrack and open up the cover to see what Colin is wearing. It is the funniest thing I have seen this year. Now if I could only find it online, I'd share it with you all in a nanosecond.

I have three PBS stations but none are showing P&P! Inspector Lewis is the only British fix I will get tonight. I envy you!

If so, he wears it well :-) I've never seen him as chubby. He seems just right.

Sorry dears, but you should see him at 3 am eating an Entenmann's French Crumb Cake without the aid of knife and fork.

It's the plan....I'm having my seamstress whip something wonderful up for the occasion.
(Actually, I'm planning to plant myself at the bar with my laptop. I may have to be at work, but this is soooo much more important....Cellar patrons be damned!)

Why Tinky, you naughty boy!! In the "Firth" place it does indeed give us more to bite, grab and paw at -

Our Colin's girth still gives us mirth.
It detracts not from his great worth
He's still a hunk on this here earth,
From freezing Nome to hottest Perth.

(I shall be submitting this to his fan club - no doubt there is a growing body of poetical odes to himself)

Austen would probably be jealous if she had seen Colin Firth! She would probably be buying the Entemann's in bulk from Sam's Club.

Wow - Jane Austen at Sam's club buying Entenmanns (in bulk!) to eat with Mr. Darcy - why not? Me, I would like to dip various portions of Colin Firth into Nutella....and then lick off all traces of same....I didn't start this!!

Vicki, you are too funny, your comment brought to mind a carnival booth where you pay money to eat Entemanns with Colin Firth or indulge in Nutella on various portions..
Ladies, line begins here! lol. I didn't start this either, just for the record.. lol.

I love Colin Firth more than life itself. In the teen flick "What a Girl Wants", he danced in leather pants. Highly recommended film.

My favorite Firth is in the early thriller "Apartment Zero" .... he was very lovely and young and Hart Bochner ain't so bad himself.

I have not seen "What a Girl Wants" or "Apartment Zero." I will add these to my Netflix queue!

As far as Firth's physique, I think he's perfect! Who said that men had to be all muscles and thinner? Just rubbish! There's no doubt that Firth would be able to defend any lady's honour while reciting a sonnet and eating an Entenmann's at the same time!

I love Vicki's idea of what to do with the Nutella! Naughty girl, but I love it! He has the most dreamy brown eyes, too! *sigh*

      (rubbing hands together)
Lady Aisley is right - I think we have hit upon an ingenious (albeit non-dietetic) way for charities to add to their coffers - pay to lick Nutella off the hunky celeb of your choosing! Particular regions at a higher premium, obviously...what we need to do is find out Colin Firth's fave charity, approach his "people", and start saving our shillings. I would also contribute to the Clive Owen "Lick-a- Thon!" Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk...

      (stifles gag reflex)
Now you had to go and ruin a good thing, didn't you? Do you know how many orphans will languish shoeless if celebs must be dipped in marmite instead at charity events? A pox upon your stringent rules!! (stamps dainty, well-shod foot)

      Meanwhile, view and drool....

      http://www.nutellausa.com/

Damn and blast - it IS originally from the land of Mussolini - however, it does indeed have a royal - I mean loyal - following in the United Kingdom, as does tea, which didn't originate there either, what what?? (I'm desperate)

You know, they have those "naughty dice"....I'm just picturing using those for the nutella and Mr. Darcy....
      Die #1 : earlobe
Die #2 : nutella (or lemon curd? hopefully dodging the marmite)
Die #3 : While humming Beethoven's Ode to Joy...
      ...could be kind of fun....
