Hi. I am a new member and joined this group because one member mentioned the altered book. I started altering books in Fall '08 and did mostly this art work during the winter. I started making a spirit house in media sampler art class, altered a Thomas Kinkade book of sayings and a violin next. I have altered about 10 books, one of them, "Writers on Artists" is quite large. The last four became wall hangings. I have been asked to offer a class at my co-op art gallery but have been procrastinating. I just heard that there are some altered books at a fine local art school and plan to see what they have done. Does anyone else have some experience with this art/craft form?
I also do watermedia painting, collage, monotype prints, and a little pottery.
