Ebooks
Started by Bob L, Saturday, February 2 2008. Last post Saturday, April 5 2008.

I'm interested in hearing from ebook readers or others who have an opinion about ebooks. Are the the coming thing? Does the low price many publishers charge for their books influence you?

For me... I still love holding books in the palm of my hand and carrying it anywhere i go. I still prefer the old fashion way - which is holding the book while reading it.

Darn, I was hoping you would read one of my ebooks. However, I still like to read an oldfashioned book. Kindle, a new digital reader, may change all of that, though. If the can bring the cost down. Regards, Bob Liter

There has been much conversation on the Internet recently about Amazons' new digital reader, Kindle. I don't have one yet but was delighted to learn that among the thousands of books available for the new reader my Nick Bancroft mysteries are included. A couple of romances, too. The novels are published by Renaissance E Books.

I have abandoned reading for some time until I got hold of an ebook for my "palm". Since then I have read the 7 books of Harry Potter from there and the 3 books of Lord of the Rings. There are others still which I was able to download for free from "palm freeware". The nice thing about these books is that you can carry them everywhere and read them everywhere from queues, while waiting for the dentist, while proctoring an exam, while waiting for a slow computer etc. and even in the absence of light because the palm has its own light. Really cool!

Interesting, EQ. I'm hoping more and more readers will start using the new ebook readers because all of my novels are available through the Internet. Good reading.
