This is a group for people who enjoy the sub-/cross-genre of paranormal mystery.
This is not to be confused with either paranormal romance or urban fantasy.
It can, though, overlap with several other sub-genres.

Please feel free to add to the group shelves at any time as long as the books added can be considered a paranormal...more »

Yasmine Galenorn - Chintz 'n China series

I read this series last month, the first two as ebooks, but then I just had to have the whole series on paper. They are just so great. Anyone else who has read them? Do you think there will be more than 5 books?

Sorry ... I've only read one of her books so far and it's not this series.
In fact, I can't remember if it's under the Galenorn name or under India Ink.
There's a lot of her fans out there though.
    Someone should reply soon.
Just "bump" this subject up to the top of the discussions should it get buried.

Yasmine Galenorn (aka India Ink) announced several months ago that there would be no more books in either this series or the Bath 'n Body series by India Ink. To paraphrase, although both series are very popular, mysteries just aren't her favorite genre to write, so she's not going to do it anymore.

I had talked to her about that when we were talking about an article for the magazine. She has ended that series and said is focusing more on other things. I was kind of sorry to hear that, they are really good books.

I have only read one of the Chintz 'n China books. I was excited to find it because I have read some of her "regular, higher page count, paranormal" books.

I really enjoyed the C n C book, but had a problem whether to classify it as a cozy or just a mystery........ Too much sexual talk and some language that I pretty much thought pulled it out of the cozy category.........As a matter of fact, I add a "PG 13" notation with my recommendation.

I was impressed that she has been successful with her paranormal and yet had this (almost) cozy series. Ah well. Guess the big dogs won out..........sigh

I will continue to read this series as I run across them. But honestly, since the series ends, it won't be at the top of my list, and will probably come from the library or used book store.

I agree with you. I've only read the Bath 'n Body series and really enjoyed them. But while there is less violence in them than a regular mystery, I think the sex takes it out of the cozy mystery category. Personally, I think of them as "chick lit" mysteries.

One of the things I liked most about this series, is Emerald O'Brien herself. 36, not a fotomodel figure, but just a real woman, with curves, children and everything. So many books have (very) young people as the main characters. It is a nice change.
