This is not to be confused with either paranormal romance or urban fantasy.
It can, though, overlap with several other sub-genres.

Please feel free to add to the group shelves at any time as long as the books added can be considered a paranormal...more »

How does that book on the shelf fit in the "paranormal mystery" genre?

Some of the books on the shelves puzzle me.
There are a few on there that I wouldn't have guessed would even fit in this category.
Would we please get back to explaining our additions to the shelves?
(I'm just as guilty of this lack as anyone else here by the way.)

I knew we kind of had an "explanation of what goes on the shelf" thread, but can't find it. I just added Wicked Gentlemen by Ginn Hale, which I think fits in well here. I read this about a week or so ago and really enjoyed it. It kind of reminded me of Harry Dresden and wanted to share it around a little.

    - if it's a mystery in which ghosts and other paranormal creatures make an appearance or are major characters?
    - if it's urban fantasy in which the protagonist is a detective or always involved in solving crimes or mysteries?

btw, just added the Rogue Angel series by Alex Archer to the shelves; just got book 2 Solomon's Jar. the main character is an archaeologist intrigued by the arcane - her investigations lead her to encounters with cults, magic swords, ancient temples, etc.

Those both definitions both sound like fair game for this group.
Thanks to both of you for adding to the shelves :)
(I love to steal reading ideas.)

I just added Wicked Game by Jeri Smith-Ready to the shelves but almost did not.
The mystery element is a little iffy.
If anyone else reads this book, I wouldn't mind a second opinion regarding whether or not this book belongs here.
