Hi everyone! I just joined Shelfari and I'm really excited to be here!! I have been reading books on this list for a while. Right now I'm reading Tropic of Cancer by Henry Miller. So far, so good. Some of the books on this list I don't enjoy at all. Some of my favs are: Brave New World -Aldous Huxley, Darkness at Noon -Arthur Koestler (I really love this one!), and Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I am having a tough time finding some of these titles tho. Every few weeks I buy a few at a time and try to read them in order. It's a lot of fun and I'm finding new authors I like. Isn't that what it's all about? Happy reading!!

    Hi,

Would you be kind enough to post a link to the Modern Library list of 100 best novels? I'd like to start reading them. Thanks so much,

    Ellen

I as well just joined Shelfari. I also have this list and am trying to read books off of it- i just tend to read so many books that I only get to read one off the list every 5th or 6th book I read. Yes I know I just need to concentrate! :)

I have veered off the track. I just finished reading "Twilight" by Stephenie Meyer (wanted to see what all the hubbub was about), and a nonfic about Jack the Ripper. My next "100 Novel" is set to be Sister Carrie by Theodore Dreiser. It's in my bag that I carry every day, I just haven't started it yet. We all know how that goes : )

Hi, bookworm and others. I am also very new to shelfari and am looking forward to reading many of these books. I will have to concentrate like Sandra N!

Just a little note on finding books... amazon is good, but I have better luck with www.abebooks.com. I used to go there for school and even some of the hard to find editions seem to be there.

    Maybe others have more suggestions?

    Hey everyone,
Following the pattern here, I'm also new to Shelfari. Thankfully I work near Foyles in London so with any luck it'll be a short stroll to find anything! (he said optimistically...)

I just learned about this group. I've been on shelfari for about three years now. I've been selecting books from this list for about two years. I have half a dozen best of lists I use for recommendations, but this one is my favorite because I've enjoyed every title I've read from it. I think I'm about 2/3 of the way through it at this point and still reading!

I use paperbackswap.com and bookmooch.com frequently. I recommend them both as good sources for books on this list.

    Happy reading to all!
