    Imperial Bedrooms!

The highly anticipated new Bret Easton Ellis novel and sequel to the book that put him on the literary map, Less Than Zero, is on it's way with a release date somewhere in May 2010.

    The alledged first line:

They made a movie about us.

Waiting for a new novel is excruciating! I just ran out and re-read Less Than Zero, just for prep, and I can't wait to see what he does with this one.

Of course when I finish it in 2 days then I'm stuck waiting another 4 to 8 years for his next.

I guess there are worse ways to waste your twenties.

Check out some press from RandomHouse for Imperial Bedrooms:

T'anks, the cover looks fecking awesome. I've tried to put it to the back of my head, then I somehow came across this...another three months of waiting - shit!

Re-reading another Ellis sounds like a good idea actually, I'm sooo tempted, but if I read one I know I'll need more and more and more and...ugh, why doesn't he write more? Quality, not quantity, eh? Freaking genius...

Welcome! I'm with you. I read 3 over the last 6 months or so, 2 of which were re-reads. So i'm primed and ready, and I'm saving Informers for the final run up. I feel like big fans warrant a preview copy somehow but oh well. I'll do my best to stay busy.

Finished it about a week ago. It was brutal. It's perfect companion to Less Than Zero, and maybe it's because I was born in the 80's, but I think Imperial Bedrooms is better. Nothing against LTZ but Imperial Bedrooms is chillingly amazing. I've been going back and re-reading parts all week. I'm disheartened to know he takes so long to write novels, because this one was around 168 pages or so and just whets the appetite. I'll be 32 or 33 when his next book comes out. Which is kind of a bummer.
