I know everyone had it on their shelves & I didn't want to read about vampires. However, I got hooked anyway, or "sucked in" :) (pun intended). Wow.

My favorite books with strong female characters are Anne Bishop's trilogy, "Poison Study", "Summers at Castle Auburn" and the Margaret Weis/Tracy Hickman series...

You've GOT to read "Son of the Shadows." It is the best book Juliet Marillier has written and it is the MIDDLE book in a trilogy. Pretty cool stuff. Twisted...
