A way to search either 'Books I have' or 'Books I don't have'.....

I would like to have a way to search for Books I Have or Books I Don't Have - on friends' shelves, group shelves, and within search responses.]

This would be particularly useful if one is searching for new books by a favorite author, or within a genre.

Is this an option that might be added in the future?

Hi Sara. When you search for book, the button next to the book will be green (if it's on your shelf) or blue (if it's not on your shelf). When you're visiting a friend's shelf, you'll see a green bookmark on the books that you have in common with them. Let me know if you think there are additional tools that would help you to know which books aren't on your shelf yet that you might like (that's how I'm interpreting your question--let me know if I'm off-base). Thanks!

Hi, Amanda. I understand the current system...how one can see if a book is on their shelf or not.

What I was actually asking about was a type of added feature, wherein one could specify "only show me books that I don't have", or "only show me books that I have" - basically a narrowing of search parameters.

To show all the books you don't have within a genre or author could be long, but interesting to see. This is a great suggestion to go along with a better recommendation system that's customized for you and your taste in books. I'll pass it along! Thanks :)
