Welcome to Florida.
From the playscript of Key Largo (yes, made into a movie) to tomorrow's new tropical treat from Bob Morris, from Rawlings' Pulitzer Prize winner, The Yearling, to Lois Lenski's Strawberry Girl, from Jules Verne to Zora Neale Hurston, do you have a favorite fiction, poetry collection, or other work of fiction with a Florida theme, to share?
Also, please share moments from your visits to creative Florida libraries. Something about the staff, the setting, the collection?
I've always loved visiting the Key West Library when in the island town. The tiniest library I've ever been to in Florida is on Boca Grande, on the West Coast. Another small but knock-out one is tucked way up in the Panhandle in DuFuniak Springs.
Look for The Booklovers Guide to Florida from Pineapple Press, for many titles on the state & literary lore ~
