We were forced to learn to invest in our 40s and 50s after realizing we had been taken in both the annuity products and then the tech bubble and crash when we lost a million. We regrouped by discovering the Boglehead way from John Bogle a decade ago that protected us from the 2008 crash when we were in our 50s and 60s and still managed to retire early. All of this is documented in an excruciating detail including our portfolio performance in dollars compared to what we would have earned had we used some of the “lazy portfolios.”
