My introduction is hardly likely to win me any more friends than my discussion posts have, but in the spirit of participation I'll go ahead anyway.
I've always been a critic of the Arthurian legends for several reasons; they make me uncomfortable. Still, I've studied them as much as I have Vic Lit or Modernism, and only slightly less than Romanticism.
I studied Arthurian Literature at first because I was captured by the figure of Merlin (the first procurer?), and later because I became interested in Medieval Literature and French Romances. I like questing tales for the same reason I like sea stories and fairy tales - they follow different rules than modern and post-modern (if you believe in that sort of thing) fiction.
