I heard they are making this into a movie. I was wondering if the book was any good. My boyfriend bought the book, so I may read it.

The book was excellent. The three books were all made into movies in Sweden and I thought they were excellent. You might want to check them out.

The first movie, based on The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, was excellent and I'm even looking forward to the Hollywood remake that's due out December, 2011 starring Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. By the way, the caption on the movie post reads "Evil shall with evil be expelled, which is a great line." The second movie, based on The Girl Who Played with Fire was so over the top and untrue to the book that I didn't like it. Let's face it, it was a bad movie based on a great book. The third and final movie, based on the best book in the series, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, was the second best movie of the trilogy. I was disappointed with the third movie and I expected more. I suppose it makes sense because the best parts of the third book are during the courtroom drama and there's only so much you can portray in a movie, even if it was 147 minutes (based on Netflix).

If you have Netflix, you can see the movies here: http://movies.netflix.com/WiSearch?v1=The%20Girl%20with%20the%20Dragon%20Tattoo&oq=dragon&ac_posn=3

I liked the Swedish version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo" better than the Hollywood version. The heroine in the Hollywood version was too pretty, too tame, not nearly edgy enough but Daniel Craig is always easy on the eyes.
