It depends on the book I'm reading! I read some slowly if they're good- I go over them again and again [wishing they had no ending]!
Actually, it doesn't take me long to finish a good book the first time[A day or two, depending on my schedules]; It is when I choose to go through it again I take it slowly[weeks]...
I spend less time on boring ones- Of course I read them through to the end- without understanding most of them! all I do is make sure I go through...
But I spend quality time on project ones, whether they're boring or not, there's no choice but to understand them! [Weeks into Months- sometimes, depending on the kind of project]...

Hi Irene -
I am with you. But since I have a whole bunch of book marks. I did not not know there is a space between finishing one book and starting another.

Depending on the book.....If it's a really good book I find it really hard for me to start a new one, but if it's just a good book i can start a new one right away

It depends on the book...I'll move straight to the next one if it's a sequel. But I usually wait about a day or two....especially if it's a good one cus I have to get over it first. LOL Like "TORN" I had to wait 2 days before starting another one cus that book had me tripping.

I may wait an hour or two if it is a lazy day and i don't plan to do anything but read...It depends. If i am a little burnt out i will wait a week before i pick up another book, although one is always near, and if i leave the house one is in my purse. I may not touch it, but i have to know i have one if i decide it is time. LOL!

I always have something waiting in the wings.... I may take a day out, but I like to read so I just move right on to the next book

If the book I just read took me through a lot of twists and turns, sometimes I have to wait a day or two to catch my breath! If it was a boring book, I start another one right away. If it a depressing book, I start something of a different genre to cleanse my palette. It just depends on the book I just finished. But then on the other hand, sometimes I have several books going at the same time choosing to mark them with the cheap bookmarks I pick up here and there! I have one expensive bookmark I save for the books that take me longer to read!

I lasted long to write this also. I usualy have a number of books going at once so there is never an overlap its just one solid thing. I didn't know there was a lapse in between reading one set of books and another. Like Irene E just long enough to change from one book (or books) to the next. I must have 50 or more book marks and I always have trouble finding a book mark (if you get my drift).

I`m blessed (or cursed) by being a very fast reader, so I always have a second book ready to go, but I always re-read books later. Was stunned a few years ago to meet people who only read a book once!

I have soooo many books in my TBR pile that my habit lately is to always have a couple in my bag, just in case the one I started on doesn't prove to be interesting enough for me to finish. But typically once I finish one book Im instantly sorting through my TBR pile to see what catches my fancy next.

Books Are My Paradise
After I finish a book I usually wait until the next day or sometimes I will start another book immediately. I always have a ready to read pile of books I want to read with book marks in them, by my desk. I also have a big TRP in my room so some times I look through there to see what I feel like reading.

Sweet n' Sassy
Just long enough to post my review and then I'm off and reading another book...as long as I have the time...I'm always reading...if I'm reading a book and just about done...you can best believe I have another on stand-by...ready and waiting...I rarely go anywhere without my books...never know when any opportunity may present itself...Happy Reading :-)
