  We have wonderful Friends in this Group - who have been with us for More than 2 years...

    Krish, Don't take my comment wrong. If you will read my other comments you will see that there is a bigger picture, and there is a reason the discussions are less vibrant than in the past. It will take time for them to get back to that level. We will just have to be paitent.

    yes and no, i had noticed a change in the level of discussion after the group was made private by invitation only, i have not been here in several months, not due to that, but for other reasons beyond my control. i will be more active again, i liked the spiritual nature of out talks, i was very sad when the Reb left us, as i noticed the decline at that point, i am over joyed today to see his comments again. take care, remember Krish this is just an opionion not a critisisum,

    Yes, Initially I named this group as
    "Religion of Love" Later based on the request from members I changed it to
    "Religion for Universal Peace" - Again many of our Friends requested not to bring in Religion into the subject - and then after lot of consideration I fixed the name as
    "Freindship for Universal Pece"
    I am under the impression this is the Right name and
    We are all happy with this ...
    Am I right ?

    I didn't know that this group was called "Religion for Universal Peace". I join this group out of curiosity when its was called "Friendship for Universal Peace" and also all the peoples in this group i took them as part of my families. The name sound good. You are right about the name.

    Way back when, the discussions were vibrant AND RESPECTFUL. It was wonderful discussing and sharing. Then the wolves came in and terrorized everyone. I left. I returned a year later after the wolves had been chased away (for the time being).

    I joined because of the name. I am absolutely, positively, 100% PRO Universal Peace!!!!! Oops, I just noticed this was to answer the question before and it got in the wrong category. sorry. What do or did I like about this group? I have to say the first thing I LOVED about this group was the people! YOU, Krish, and so many more I do not want to name names for fear of leaving someone out, who were all so wonderful and kind and loving. They were people I felt instantly connected with. Like a true brotherhood or sisterhood. I felt like I had known them all my life and even like I could trust them with my life. I felt a wonderful camaraderie. I was at such a horrible place in my life that this group of wonderful people became the family I so needed. You all lifted my spirits and helped me move on more than you will ever know. Next I loved the discussions where I learned about people, cultures, beliefs, customs, and more. I am hungry for knowledge. So, yes, for me it was the people and the knowledge which attracted me.

    The Group's name grasped my attention as soon as I discovered it. "Universal Peace" is such an adventurous title as it casts a potential aim beyond World Peace.
    On mentioning this to sage I respect, he suggested that the only group that might be better than this might be one titled "Multiversal Peace". We drank more green tea together and spoke of other things, returning to the concept of such wide reaching calm by suggesting an even better group that is surely to come, namely the one titled "Omniversal Peace".

    May the threads of ultimate spiritual tranquillity weave their way gradually into the cloth of comfort worn by all.

    I think that people have become afraid to discuss. I think that they want to speak out, but are afraid of what will happen. Again, I am speaking of the wolves that invaded the house. Krish, you and I are very aware of the extent these wolves will go to to silence us, and it shows in the posts. Until people feel secure in the house once more, there will be this uncomfortable hesitation and silence. It will pass, if however slowly.

    I am not afraid to speak out and am sorry for those who are. I would only hope all of us could speak our truths or thoughts with *kindnesss, thoughtfulness, and respect* for others. If someone does not, it is our option to make peace and if that does not work... ignore them! Lively debates are fun and informative. Pushing your own opinion down someone's throat is not. Here is a quote I like...... "The best weapon to hold in an argument is the tongue." I sometimes want to despair thinking if we cannot create peace in this little environment on the internet in this group how can we accomplish it globally? But I am a strong believer that it IS possible!

  I joined this group when it had this same name. However, I liked the dove, universal symbol of peace which was in the centre. I would like to see it back. The rest of the logo can remain as it is now.
  Some discussions have been more meaingful than others. Participants should be free to share their viewpoints, without others disapproving and critcising them personally.

    Thank you so much for the kind note.
    We are so very sorry for the book listed on our shelf like Vampires and Zombies etc.
    Actually, I have removed hundreds of books from our shelf - just placed by few bad members - who were removed by us later.
    They spoiled the discussions.
    They spoiled the book rack.
    They spoiled the Group as a whole.
    They were only few in numbers and they are not now with us.
    But the damage to the Group was heavy.
    I need to spend much more time in cleaning the Rack.
    I hardly get time to check each and every post for any violation / hurting notes etc.
    Kindly excuse us for the delay.
    Will do something on the books today.
    Can i request you to help us by selecting some Good books for our Group Rack Please !!!
    By adding more and more good Books - we can add value to our Group.
    Kinldy consider my request Please ..
    We will add Few more Good books too..

    May be it is Her View / opinion - when the Group is for Universal Peace.
    Why have books on Violence / Terror / etc..
    Those books are there - because someone has just kept it..
    It is just like a Library - We can pick and choose - what we need..
    Let other books be there -= for someone who need to know what it is all about..
    "She" is new to our group Jann..
    Slowly - "She" will understand and appreciate us..

  Sorry I've been AWOL for so long.
  I'm the owner/moderator/administrator on a bunch of other groups myself and that's been keeping me too busy.

  I just wanted to drop in again and just say "hi".
  This is ONE group that I'll definitely not drop anytime soon (even if I've not been very active).
  There are some seriously nice people here.

  Yes, there was a period of time when we had some disruptive members.
  That was unfortunate.
  They appear to be gone now but so are some other awesome members that were driven off by these people.
  Maybe these people will slowly check back in like I'm doing now :)
