Where's a good place to get your books?

When I need another book to read I pop over to the Half Price Books. I've been blessed with one just around the corner so I go at least once a week. Aside from that, what are some good places to get your books?

I'm poor so I go to the library. I search the catalog from home then put stuff on hold and wait for an email saying I can get it.

I don't do the library thing much anymore. I usually can't read a book in two weeks and the late fees. Oh the horrible late fees!

Half-priced books is a great resource, I've found many good deals there. For new stuff, I check out book-people. Kinda expensive, but some good stuff. I tend to get most of my books online.

For a few items, I check out the libraries, mainly the UT libraries. I don't know how I would find those items otherwise.

The libraries at UT are weird. It's weird how there's a different library for every discipline.

I'm new to the group but I'll apply my 2 cents. I'm pretty exclusive to Half Price but Book Stop will sometimes have good deals on new titles. I can't do libraries, I'm to irresponsible when it comes to due dates. =D

There's one right next to Central Market North (Lamar and 38th st). It's basically an extension of Barnes and Nobles, but it seems less expensive. This could, of course, just be my perception.

I'm a fan of Half Price Books. The North Lamar location is decent for fiction in Spanish because of the proximity to the university. All of the locations are great for general fiction in English.

Book People is a good place to buy new releases and the classics. But I always have trouble finding anything "out of the ordinary" there.

Looks like half-priced takes the prize, it's hard to beat!

The only other semi-unique bookstore I can think of is "Brave New Books", which has a large selection of conspiracy-type books, and a small selection of historical books.

But I know there have to be other bookstores here in town that should be of interest, anyone have anything else to share?

I like supporting BookWoman. It can be a bit pricey, but it is nice to support locals!
