Open Membership

How do you feel about opening up membership? Originally we were a closed community because I didn't want to pose any risk for community members at the agency. The reality is our agency has very limited and unreliable access to technology and so members are not participating here regularly. Let me assure you the physical group is solid and we look forward to our bi-weekly meetings.
I'm also find more young people are engaged on MySpace, Facebook, blogs and Twitter so I've created accounts there. What I'm getting at is that is we, older women who frequent this forum and we seem to be busy, too. Okay, I'm extremely busy.
It is a challenge learning how to use which platform when and what is most effective. What I am sure of is a discussion forum like this is still needed but it isn't the only way for me to connect with young women.
I want and need this space but again, I'm here asking your opinion and for your help.
I'm going to write as many of you privately in addition to this notice so I can be sure how you feel.
