PRODUCT DIVERSIFICATION AND FLEXIBILITY ARE KEYS TO SUCCESS IN THIS ECONOMY
My name is Phillip Swindle. I am a Certified Records Manager and VP of Sales & Marketing for Info Pro Concepts, Inc. I incorporated our records management consulting and product sales firm in 1995. I was corporate trained in Palo Alto, CA, by TAB Products Corporation and spent 6 years in management with TAB prior to starting my own business. Prior to my employment with TAB, I was employed by the imaging division of 3M Corporation.
I have achieved quite a bit of success in my own right as an entrepreneur. However, as computer and imaging technologies continued to advance, I sensed an urgent need to diversify my companies. Many of my repeat accounts were radiology outpatient centers and hospitals who purchased hard copy supplies and storage systems.
Our clients had begun to migrate in large numbers to digital imaging (PACS) systems that do not require traditional x-ray film or the hard copy storage systems to organize them. We couldn't stop the wave so I opted to ride the wave rather than be drowned by it. My philosophy has been to use my skills and experience to advise my clients regarding the best system to fit their needs based on my knowledge of their individual systems. This is proving to be a valuable strategy. We are deepening our existing client relationships and networking within large corporations to reach others with similar needs.
I also elected to increase and diversify our product offering to our existing clients. We now offer a line of specialty cabinets for cd storage, track mounted PACS stations, mobile PACS stations, "flip it" laptop work stations that allow the laptop to retract beneath the work surface. We offer mobile pc carts with built in laptop/notebook chargers.
Our web based business www.OfficeAnything.com now carries all of these products in addition to our lines of high quality furniture and seating. We're continuing to increase and diversify our product offering and it is proving to be a successful philosophy in a sluggish and challenging economy.
