Another suggestion is to call or visit the physical location of your local library. Tell them what you are in need of. At least once, sometimes twice a year, our libraries "clean house" and get rid of hundreds of books, journals, reference materials, magazines, videos and more. They usually put the books on sale to raise money for the branch. The sale prices are ridiculously low, like a dollar or $0.25 per book.
Tell them to put you on the list and they will give you first notice. Make sure you back to the library on the last day of the fundraiser. What is left over sometimes gets given to a good home for free. I have come away with some wonderful finds. Just an idea.
Also, you can download your own free eBooks and populate your library with material that is hand picked for your line of work. That way, the only expense you will incur is that of paper and binding material. Links below.
