I would say Lestat of Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles.. his is one of those who will never obey rules and will come up with his naughtiness. What I like about him most is his passion and the love that he give but a rebel is always unpredictable, you will never know what he is capable off.

Ned Kelly is a real person not fictional, but I like that Greg Jordan's movie with Heath Ledger playing as Ned.

Right. Carey’s book is a fictionalised account of Ned Kelly, told in his own voice. The language of the novel is something to get used to, but once one gets the hang of the Aussie dialect, it’s really funny.

I haven’t watched the movie. But if Heath Ledger can play renegade Joker, I guess he can be Ned Kelly.

Hi, rise! I'm in my Wilkie Collins phase, so I would have to say Count Fosco. He's one of the vilest fictional characters I've come across.

Peter, I keep hearing about Wilkie Collins as a favorite read of book groups, esp. his “sensation novels”. So how’s the Wilkie phase so far?

Hi, Rise! Collins's novels are great! Some of them are a bit lengthy though but are very satisfying. His sensation novels are truly one of a kind.

A simple-minded question from a non-trekkie: say Q and the Borg go one-on-one (technically, the Borg can be considered as one since they are a collective, right?), who would win?

The guys over at ign.com put the Borg (particularly the Borg Queen) above Q in their countdown.

I've no idea what is the coutdown all about.
But if they go one on one Borg will lose out since Q are gods. one Q will win over all the borg collective.....
      Q can:
      create/destroy a universe
make time go back, forward or stand still

and make the Borg as if they never existed.

      nerdy eh......
