Our little book club has a few guidelines:
1. We read black romance books that are in print
2. We give a month sometimes two months to...more »

Sounds like a goooood list. Thanks Sweet

We just did an Iris, book so we can't officially make it our pick but anyone in the club can always start a thread to discuss any black romance/women's fiction book (hint hint hint). That's what we're here for.

I have never read a Zuri Day or Devon Archer book, so those are my top two.

Come on folks, chime in. Or add to the list.

      Peace

I've NEVER read anything by Mr. Archer...I do have several of his books in my tbr pile...but I thought maybe we could finally get a man to come to one of our discussions...so I put Mr. Jordan on my list (I've read several of his books) and Mr. Archer...but I guess we'll see what the group says...I'm game for anything...just let me know what and when...have a blessed Sunday...and as always Happy Reading, Ladies :-)

I LOVE Devon Vaughn Archer's books. I have two at home to read. But I've read all the previous ones. I truly enjoy romance books written by males as you get a very interesting inflection and views.

I've never read anything by Zuri Day. I have her first book on my huge to-be-read pile and I've heard good things about BODY BY NIGHT. So I'd be cool with reading that. I read LOVE TAKES TIME, MAKE YOU MINE and WHISPER SOMETHING SWEET and loved them. So, I'd be happy to re-read them and discuss them here.

Thanks for chiming in Gwen and Sassy, I'm going to seek out some more folks to give recommendations or say they want to read one of these.

I know Wayne would come to discuss his books, but I don't know the other gentlemen. Nothing beats a failure but a try, as they say. I'll run whoever down and try to get them to come.

    Peace

I think doing a male iauthor s a good idea.

I agree at this time - that the next author should not be by an author we have not discussed and yes - we need to get back in the habit of posting discussions here.

How does everyone think discussing two books this month worked?
    Did it work for you?
Each of the books were 400 pages - so that was reading 800 pages.

Okay, we are going with one of the fellas. Maybe we can do two again. One of Wayne's books and Body By Night by Zuri Day since it looks like most folks haven't read any of his stuff. It's always good to try to find new authors to follow.

We really do need to keep our "official" book discussions to every two months, BUT I strongly encourage continuous book discussions through out. That's what the group is for. Just start a string, pick a book, the date you want to discuss it and it's done.

I'm off to work. I'll come back on tonight. If you have a preference of which of Waynes books to do or if you want to do his latest, speak up

    Peace
    Dee

I don't mind discussing Mr. Jordan's latest...I haven't read it yet...but if we choose to discuss his earlier works...I'll have to search through boxes and boxes in order to locate and re-read his other 4 books I have...please don't make me do that...lol...but if I must I will...I'll do whatever I have to in order to participate in the discussion...that being said, Always a Knight works for me...and if ya'll want to do a second I'm also game :-)

Let's read Always a Knight by Wayne Jordan and Body By Night by Zuri Day for September.

    Does that work for ya?

How about Have Mercy by Eric Sewell or Lady Jasmine by Victoria Christoper Murray.

I really want to discuss "Gideon" regarding Eric Jerome Dickey but that covers at least three books (Sleeping with Strangers, Waking with Enemies and Dying For Revenge) but possible four or even five (Pleasure) and the new one to be released (Resurrecting Midnight)....I truly don't know how one that has read the trilogy or all of them could discuss just one of them.
