Hello everyone- Thanks Dee and Rhea. I'll be in and out all day to answer questions about and talk about Once You've Touched The Heart. I'll start off the questions. There are a number of characters introduced in this novel. Who is your favorite and why?

That is a tough question.. you would think that Tracy woud be but I liked (and I dont' have the book in front of me) but the best friend that she asked to teach her how to make love to a man.... That scene was priceless...

      Good Morning All,

As usual, I don't have a favorite but favorites: James, Al Day, Tracy and Bryant. Love JD, Ashley, Al Day's right hand man and Douglas, JD's friend that owned the hotel (someone below stated his name so I was able to edit this and add it in) but if I HAD to pick favorites, it would be those four.

I just have to say that Iris did a wonderful job of pulling me into the world she created. I was so happy that I had ordered the second installment to the Heart Series and had it as soon as I finished reading Once You've Touched the Heart. I did not want to leave the world she created or the characters. I wanted to read more. I'm waiting now for Amazon to send me the third book. They need to hurry up. LOL.

I really enjoyed Once You've Touched the Heart. It had just the right amount of realism mixed in with the fairytale qualities of two people falling in love almost at first sight. It was a great read.

I LOVE THESE STORIES!! yes, Iris did a wonderful job of introducing us to and engaging us in the lives of these characters. I too am very glad that I had both and was able to go from Once You've Touched the Heart straight to The Heart of Him.

My favorite character is Al Day aka Turk...I fell in love with him from the moment he came on the scene...despite his shady dealings...he was the driving force that help Tracy to achieve her goals...his over-protective nature for Tracy was endearing...and I was DEFINITELY heartbroken when he was arrested and put in jail...I sure hope he gets out at some point during this Saga...hint, hint, hint...lol.

But that being said the full cast is LIVELY and UNFORGETTABLE...and I would love for each of them to find their own HAPPILY-EVER-AFTER as this saga progresses...I found them VERY believable and refreshing...KUDOS Mrs. Bolling for creating such an ENGAGING cast...main and secondary :-)

This book took me on a emotional roller coaster ride...I was CAUGHT UP in all the drama, politics, mystery, and romance...I LOL, I cried, I sighed, and when the gang members beat my girl, Tracy down like that I cringed and felt every blow...it was like watching a movie...that was the worse beaten I think I've ever read about in romance novel...the storyline is TOTALLY CAPTIVATING and I would love to see this as a tv movie or on the BIG screen.

I absolutely loved Tracy & JD's story. Tracy's sense of innocence was so endearing. However, sometimes I felt it worked against her. I found myself wanting to box those nasty catty women who found joy in picking on her. Iris, I want you to write me in a story so I can give that nasty Carolyn' a good Philly butt kicking! LOL Ohh...I just want to get my hands around her neck one good time.

I agree Victoria...her innocence is DEFINITELY sweet and endearing...Tracy definitely brought out the protective nature in everyone around her...it seems EVERYONE she came in contact with...excluding Cynthia, Carolyn and Lena...wants to protect her :-)

And I so enjoyed the little tongue lashing she gave her new employee...Denise...I think that was her name...smooth, sweet Tracy-style...I was glad she put her foot down and didn't let Miss Thang walk all over her...just coming on the scene Miss Denise was a piece of work.

Yes! That was beautiful how she handled Denise! I think after the attack Tracy lost some of her innocence. I believe it made her look at the world differently. Just wait until you see her in The Heart of Him. She really begins to come out of her shell.

At first I was not feeling Cynthia but then she grew on me. It some ways I think that Cynthia did that to Tracy to make her stand up for herself. But will admit that Tracy was a better person than me as I would have taken the pool stick that Tracy knew how to use and try to wrap it around her neck.

Cynthia did that because that's the way Cynthia is and what she believed. I do not agree withthat stance that she did that to Tracy to make her stand up for herself but I will agree that Cynthia believed the sh** she was feeding Tracy and thus was true to her character. Cynthia also had so self esteem issues that she covered by "treating" Tracy that way plus she was jealous at times.

Hey, beachlover...I DEFINITELY think there's more to Miss Cynthia...and she's hiding something BIG...but you know it's all gonna come out...and maybe it will redeem her character...for the life of me I DO NOT understand how Tracy considered her a friend...with the way she treated her from their first meeting...I would have had to beat Miss Cynthia down...then maybe after SMACKING that A**...maybe we could have been friends...but there is no way she would have walked all over me...and I was a little surprised Ashley didn't step to her more often because of the way she treated Tracy...I'm sure something waiting in the wings for Miss Cynthia, though...and I can't wait to find out what it is.

      posted 5 months ago. ( reply )
    • Sweet n' Sassy

      Sweet n' Sassy

Yeah...a little disappointing...because Tracy had her back to no end...I mean just look how she stood up for her...took care of her with the whole David Holt situation...and kept it a secret from Ashley's family and other friends...I thought Ashley should have set Cynthia straight about Tracy...and nipped that whole disrespecting behavior in the bud...not sure how I feel about Ashley just yet...hopefully with the next book I'll get a better read on her...I don't dislike her...but I didn't have the connection with her that I did with the other characters...I do think James is definitely good for her...and will bring out the best in her...

I lost a little respect for Ashley when she was still seeing David...even after she found out he was dating/seeing someone else...I believe Tracy even tried to tell her to leave him alone when they came to stay with JD for their school break...but she was hard-headed...and didn't listen...which is probably why she ended up having that little situation with David at the library...(it was the library, right?)...not that he had any right to do that...but if she left him alone she might not have ended up with the close-call...but then again...he's kind of a STALKER type...so he might have tried it anyway.

I completely, I do not dislike Ashley but that flaw has grated on me and truly concerns me. If one truly feels a certain way so be it but seeing how the four of them spent so much time together, she should have checked her. If she had in the beginning, it wouldn't have progressed farther.

Oh, and another favorite character is Douglas...talk about a loyal friend...a behind the scenes kind of guy...I cried when I realized that he was the one that saved Tracy from being beaten to death...when Tracy realized it and the emotion and connection that took place between them at that very moment...it was so sweet...AGAIN I cried...like BIG ol' baby...WARNING anyone that hasn't read this book...have KLEENEX at the ready...you will DEFINITELY need them...lol...Douglas kind of reminds me of Turk...he's has a past...and he's not afraid to get his hands dirty in order to help his friends...but he also has a heart of gold...and if you're important to him you have the ULTIMATE protection for life...I hope he finds someone special, too ;-)

What can I say I want EACH and EVERY character to get their "JUST DESSERTS" ;-)

Gavin is quite an interesting character, too...still not quite sure if I trust him...he's not a bad guy...but I think he KNOWS exactly what he wants and will use any means necessary to fulfill his desires...I feel sorry for him being saddled with Carolyn...because he actually has feelings for her...but she's too self-involved to realize a good man when she has it...if she would have just let JD and Tracy be...I think she could have had a loyal and loving man in Gavin...but all her dirty tricks and sneaking around has driven him into the arms of another woman...to bad for her she realizes too late that he actually loves her even with all the "DIRTY" deeds she's done...can't wait to see what happens with their relationship.

Turk will bringing Gavin around? I don't get this. What about Cynthia, he's not doing anything to her that she isn't completely involved in. SHE accepted starting a relationship with a man that was latched to someone already. She is no innocent in this. I don't have the book here, nor do I remember correctly but I believe she did this to '"spite", she just developed feelings but so did Gavin.

Yes, Cynthia knew what she was getting into. Think while she appears seccurity to others - she is really insecure - wonder what happened in her past? - as JD says to Tracy - does she have a man/can she keep a man

Ms Bev - both contemporary and historical inspire me. Ms. Jackson love of family saga's capture my attention. Ms. Ray with her descriptive men (yummy). Gwyneth with her grit in your face stories. Julie Garwood historical romance always leave me wanting more and E. Lynn Harris because I can't get over Basil....

Yes...I absolute agree...James has also been a force of nature throughout this story...and I for one hope he gets a chance to lay hands on David Holt...just once...shake him up just a little bit...take him down a peg...because David Holt is a coward...he seems to like to control and intimidate his women...but I don't think he could handle it if James, JD or Brian got a hold of him...he'd probably ball like a big ol' baby...LOL

Yes, I did. And I had the nerve too. I am a survivor of domestic violence (14+ years) and supporting/believing in a unredeemable man. When I look back on my life I can not even fathom who that person was, scares the hell out of me sometime. And since I just stated that I can admit that that maybe the reason I have not had another relationship yet. WOW!!

    Sweet n' Sassy

How about Miss Vanessa ladies...now that scenario was something...can you believe the nerve of Carolyn calling in her old nemesis to try and come between JD and Tracy...but I have to give it to Vanessa...unlike Carolyn...when she realized that JD and Tracy had the REAL thing...she was woman enough to admit it and back off...now if Carolyn could just see that what JD and Tracy have is real and NOTHING she does is going to tear them apart...she might find her own happiness with Gavin...if it's not too late.

I feel kinda sorry for Gavin and Cynthia...it's too bad they didn't meet before he became involved with Carolyn...they might have made a good match...but NO good will come out of this affair they're having...they might as well give it up now.

I also think Cynthia and Carolyn are similar personalities...both think they can do and say whatever they want and not have to pay any consequences for their actions...but I think they're both biting off MORE than they can chew...and it's DEFINITELY gonna comeback and bite them BIG time.

I agree Sweet n' Sassy. I too can see Cynthia and Gavin as a good match. Thanks for making the same correlation that I made about Cynthia and Carolyn having similar personalities and this is where Cynthia's trumps because Carolyn is HATEFUL and will go to any means for revenge. She sickening. And if she gets into the Governors mansion, she still won't be happy.

Ladies...what do you think of Miss Jackie...between you and me...I think Calvin can do better...is she Carolyn's puppet or what...can she be her OWN woman and do the right thing...instead of being Miss Carolyn's beck and call girl...I was so disappointed in her...when she set Tracy up in that bathroom...ladies...I wanted to STOMP that butt...made me think of the bathroom scene in Why Did I Get Married...they were both two nice for me...Tracy and Sheila...lol...and Magna...YES, I love me some Magna for putting Jackie in her place...sorry, Iris...but I want a new mate for Calvin...lol...although I finally think she realized that Carolyn isn't really her friend...and her eyes are FINALLY opened to Carolyn's true colors...all I can say is, hopefully you can redeem her...because I'm struggling with see her with Calvin...but that could change...maybe if she apologizes to JD and Tracy ;-)

Yeah, I couldn't stand Cynthia at first. However, by the end of the book she does become a friend to Tracy. I just think she was jealous of Tracy mixed with being a snob. Remember Tracy and Ashley hit it off from day one and JD pretty much fell in love with Tracy at first sight. Cynthia was just hating on Tracy because she had that personality that drew people to her. Now as you say, Rhea, that Carolyn was just HATEFUL. What I couldn't get over was she all upset about now being JD's girl, but was whoring around! I still can't believe she was sleeping with creepy David. She had some big time issues.

    Hey;
Just got a chance to check in again. You all have been talking. some of you like Cynthia and some don't. Nobody likes David or Carolyn. Some of you are iffy on Gavin. But you all like JD and Tracy, James and Ashley and then of course, one of my favorites Brian. No one said anything about Calvin.....????

Sweet and Sassy wanted to know if any of the charecters are real. Well only Turk. Turk is my brother and that part of the story is real. The rest are all a part of my imagination.

Beachlover wants to know how many books are in this series. The Heart Series has 6 books. But charecters from Once You've Touched The Heart and The Heart of Him will have their own stories that will not be a part of the series, like Douglas, Nicolas Brooks and Nicole Brooks. And just for you-- Book 5 is Brian Brian Brian....

Rhea, girl--- did you get into this story or what. You went deep! But you have an advantage, you read the second book..

Gwyneth I'm so glad you enjoyed visiting my world. And thank you for the compliments.

Victoria -- Leave Carolyn alone, you know the girl has issues........

As for my favorite charecter,,,,,,well, JD is the man......but Brian is my favorite charecter to write about......

I'll check back in soon. If I did not answer some one's question please forgive me. I'm suppose to be working (Don't tell them I was out here) :-)

He was too tolerate of it, no her could not make Jackie do anything but he could have pointed out "what friendship is" and the effect of what she was doing was having on him.
