March 2009 Release - ALWAYS IN MY HEART
My latest release, ALWAYS IN MY HEART, is in bookstores now. It is already beginning to get some great reviews. It is my second novel and it explores love between best friends.
Here’s the blurb:
An unexpected marriage threatens to destroy the lifelong friendship between two platonic friends whose special connection might just be true love.
Full of humor and compassion, Always in My Heart introduces readers to Rachel Pendleton and Roman “Romey” Sinclair in a story of what happens when friends cross the line and become lovers. The result is a calamity of lies, seduction, betrayal, heartbreak, revenge, and the possibility of true love.
Rachel is a strong, independent editor at a Philadelphia magazine when she decides to take a promotion and move to Manhattan to be closer to her oldest friend, Romey, and her boy-crazy cousin, Valerie. Rachel has spent the better part of her adult life convincing herself that she doesn’t have time for men, with all the work she does and with the scant selection she has to choose from.
Romey is a sexy, intelligent, shrewd businessman who grew up with Rachel in Chicago, where they spent their time loving the classic sounds of ’70s Motown. They are two people who connected with each other at a young age and watched as their friendship grew over the years. Through everything that has gone amiss in their lives, they always knew they had each other. But Rachel and Romey also suppress an unrequited love for one another, which they keep buried beneath a veneer of loyalty for fear of ruining their long-lasting friendship.
This isn’t to say that both haven’t pursued relationships with other people, but those relationships have never lasted due to the lack of true friendship, honesty and love. It is when Romey introduces Rachel to his new fiancé, on the eve of her arrival in Manhattan, that Rachel is shocked into the realization that she might lose Romey to the materialistic, self-centered Franchesca.
Rachel must find a way to let her inhibitions go or she could lose the only man she has ever truly loved – forever. Keaton’s romance novel begs the questions: Can best friends become lovers? Can lovers remain best friends? Find out in the heartwarming pages of Always in My Heart.
