It's hard to quanitify preventative treatments in terms of money saved, therefore it doesn't really get funding. As well, you can't produce a drug for it, therefore it's not a viable financial option for hospitals/the Industry at large.
HOWEVER...I'm in one of the few university colleges in the world - Langara College in Vancouver, B.C. - that offers a *3 year* integrative energy healing program - it really is groundbreaking. It's being built upon scientific research and we have leaders in the field in our program. We also have regular free clinics with an addictions facility, a Vancouver hospital, and several community health offices. Our program requires 700 hours of clinical experience that we have to put in before we graduate.
It's been a phenomenal experience so far! I blogged about it a bit: www.threecupsoftao.blogspot.com
