Parent permission for content/language - K-8 school
If you check my personal profile, you'll see I need help! There are so many fabulous books I want in the library, but I am prohibited by sexual content & frankly, the language is getting far to gratuitous recently. (I don't want to start an entire thread on that though.) I believe we need to provide students with awareness of date rape, child abuse, homosexuality etc., but beware the parents!! I've marked some of the more controversial items for Jr. High only. Anyone now of librarians who have implemented this?? (I do have a bumper sticker "Censorship is Indecent" on our wall)!
If you have thoughts or know where to direct me I would be grateful.
