    Nominations for Book Discussions

Okay, since everyone seems interested in a monthly book read, I guess we'll give it a try. How about we start our first book discussion in July? I figure that will give us a chance to choose a book, get it and read it. We can start the discussion on July 15th.

So, let's start the nomination process. The books can be any cozy mystery (preferably with a cat, but that's not mandatory). List your nominations in this thread and then I'll gather all the nominations and we'll vote.

    Okay, I guess I'll start...

    Catnapped by Gabrielle Herkert
    The description on Amazon is...

    Nine lives go fast...

Legal investigator Sara Townley's not feeling too good about her recent Vegas wedding to a Navy SEAL she barely knows, and her assignment to the case of a missing cat-despite the fur ball's multimillion dollar inheritance-only confirms that her life is in the litter box.

When the Navy man comes home from active service to make good on his vows, and a rendezvous with an informant puts Sara face to face with a dead body, her personal and professional lives suddenly get serious-and she'll need a sharp survival instinct to make it out alive.

It's the first book in the Animal Instinct Mystery series.

I would be very happy with Catnapped. It's already on my TBR Mountain :-)

I would also like to nominate a book that is NOT a mystery, but is one of my top 10 books: The Bachelor's Cat by L.F. Hoffman. This is a wonderful novella about a starving artist (the bachelor) who adopts a bedraggled cat that he finds outside his door in the rain one day - and how he learns the real meaning of love through that cat.

The Bachelor's Cat is a book that can be a little hard to find, so I don't recommend it for our first group read - but it would be a great group read a few months down the road to give people a chance to get the book.

I have that book and I got it recently through PBS. That might be fun to read at some point - maybe our second discussion?

I will accept nominations through Sunday. If no one else makes any other nominations, then we can start with Catnapped.
