  hey does anyone know of any romances with southern,alpha males? i loved lucy monroes "and able" it's one of my favs. i prefer contemporary.

  Well, I know that Sandra Hill's Cajun books are as southern as you get. They tend to be packed with humor but the men are more then willing to wrestle a gator if need be LOL.

  Some of Susan Elizabeth Phillips' heroes are Southerners - Dan Calebow of It Had To Be You; the Bonner Brothers are from North Carolina in Nobody's Baby But Mine and Dream a Little Dream; Bobby Tom is a Texan in Heaven, Texas; Kenny Traveler's a Texan in Lady Be Good - all jocks and pretty much alpha, all contemporary/humorous.
  
  My favorite Southern alpha hero is Beau Dupree in Susan Andersen's Be My Baby which takes place in New Orleans.

  I so second whae Christina said. I LOVE the Cajun series by Sandra Hill, I especially love how she continued the but added a whole slew of characters in the Jinx Inc., series. Tanta Lulu makes reading the books all worth while.
