What erotic scene in a book has left you breathless? What's the hottest historical novels (or in the other genres) out there?

I totally have to agree with A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught. ^.^ One of my all-time favorite love scene in a romance novel.♥ The conversation afterwards made it all the more perfect.♥

I'm going to add that Judith McNaught book to my wish list because I keep reading such positive comments on it wherever I go. :)

The most erotic historical novel I've read so far was Awaken, My Love by Robin Schone. It is fairly explicit so may not be to everyone's taste.

Sometimes very simple actions can be given an erotic feel in the hands of a talented author. Loretta Chase's Lord Of Scoundrels is an excellent example. The crowded café scene where Dain slowly and deftly unbuttons Jessica's glove with one hand, while talking to her in Italian, is very sensuous!

There have been many...many times...the scenes between Eve and Roarke, from the "In Death" series, leave me breathless. It's not just the sex...it's the way they speak to each other, and even the unspoken things they do for and to each other...you truly feel as if one would die without the other, and how they come together to fulfill the longing of their oneness. I don't know...the two of them just move me.

Pamela Clare's latest "Unlawful Contact"....has a scene in it that just took my breath away. To tell you about it, would give away too much of the story...but I gotta say...it moved me in so many ways.

Katherine O'Neal's earlier historicals had some great erotic scenes, along with a wonderful story...too bad her latest stuff isn't as good.

Another of my favorites...Laura Leone "Fever Dreams"...what a great book...a keeper for sure...and I think time for a re-read!

Also...I gotta say...Lisa Kleypas does some hot stuff too, and provides a great story.

Finally..."Shanna" by Kathleen Woodiwiss (RIP)...to this day a fabulous story...and to me, very erotic in so many ways.

Emma Holly is always good when you want steam wafting off the pages. She's written two historical romances- Beyond Innocence and Beyond Seduction.

I guess most of Julie Garwood's Scotland stories where the super alpha takes on the innocent virgin, and tries to make everything perfect for her because he loves her and just knows he can't live without her....

Who would not be breathless with a guy like that!!!!

I am currently reading Blackthorne's Bride by Shana Galen...Its been getting a little steamy ... then all of a sudden bam. I don't think that it has left me breathless but boy I really like Jack!

All of Karen Marie Moning's books make me feel like fanning myself. Especially Dark Highlander and The Immortal Highlander. They were HOT. One short story by Linda Howard was pretty steamy -- I think it's White Out. The heroine warms a man she finds in a blizzard on her porch by using her body heat, and when he wakes up things get veeeeery interesting. "-) Outlander has lots of hot stuff too. I could probably go on and on...
