I would like to know of some other good historical romance authors that I can read. One of my favorite historical romance authors is Kinley Macgregor and Amanda Quick

I'm hooked on Diana Gabaldon right now. The first book in the series is Outlander. I'm onto the fourth one now and they have all been great. Another one--just a single book--that I got a kick out of was Karyn Monk's The Witch and the Warrior. It definitely focuses on the sexier aspects of historical romance at times, but it's a good fluff read.

Without a doubt Johanna Lindsey is my all time favorite historical romance author. Some other really good ones Shannon Drake a.k.a Heather Graham, Christina Dodd, Virginia Henley, Kathleen Woodiwiss... my list can go on for a long time. Nora Roberts is great... but I dont believe that she qualifies for historical romance; my favorite trilogy by her is Three Sisters Island.

I LOVED "How to Marry a Marquis" It was very very cute. I could never just pick one author as a favorite. I enjoy Judith McNaught, Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, Lynn Kurland, and Julia Quinn. Just to name a few off the top of my head.

I just read my first Julie Garwood book. It was not a historical but I really enjoyed Shadow Dance, and I just ordered Shadow Music which sounds like it will be set in historical Scottland. Cant wait to read it.

Heather D, you MUST read Julie Garwood's back list!!!! She writes the best historical novels. I have read all of them 2 or 3 times each. They never get old -- they are ultimate comfort reads.
