So far I have read the "Twilight" series by Stephanie Myers & the "House of Night" series by P.C. Cast & her daughter Kristen. I am looking for suggestions of awesome Vamp books to read. More geared towards adults. Thanks ! Looking forward to your replies.

Well you can't beat Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. I've only read Interview with the Vampire, but I plan to read more.

Also, The Historian is an excellent read as well. A little daunting because it is such a large text (took me a couple years to actually sit down and read the whole thing) but worth it.

HI Brittney I know this is kinda old but i really didn't like the rest of the ones I read. Interview was great. Lestat was ok. I read Queen and Armand and really didn't like either of them. A lot of cliche stuff and sometimes downright sill.

These are all really great suggestions. I might add Amelia Atwater-Rhodes's In The Forests of the Night. This is the first of a several vampire books she has. Although they aren't necessarily sequels, they all exist in the same world and you do see some of the characters in more than one story. She was young when she wrote these, but don't let that fool you. They are amazing. :) Happy reading!

One of the best vampire books I've ever read is Verland: The Transformation. It was so intense and powerful. Like nothing I've ever read honest. I was paralyzed in an accident last October and the unbelievable power of this book just hit me. It helped me get through a real dark time!

I like them dark, haunting and very gothic!

The Bride of Corinth by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
    Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu
    Dracula by Bram Stoker

For something more modern, I will second Mr. Fuseli above. Verland: The Transformation is excellent. The House on Blackstone Moor is also quite good.

Try "The Russian Deuce" for the real Vlad Dracula!

The only story of the genre I love is THE TRUE STORY OF A VAMPIRE a.k.a. The Sad Story of a Vampire by Count Stanislaus Eric Stenbock (the text is published at my Facebook Notes). Also I love my own vampire story Vampire Armastus (ISBN 9781446674543) http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/31439 -- if this minor kind of self-promotion is permitted on this forum. Thanks.

It would be incredibly silly to just vote for my own book Drasmyr, so I'll just go with the classic Dracula by Bram Stoker. Anne Rice was good too.
