  Tripod Dilemma - Help!

  I got really pumped about purchasing the Bogen Manfrotto 3001 BD tripod after reading Kelby's The Digital Photography Book. At the time of publication it cost $120- just about up my alley. I have discovered that it has been discontinued and being the newbie that I am, I feel like I'm left in the dark again. I have a Nikon d80. Any suggestions will be deeply appreciated!

  I can't seem to get the upgrade model to the 3001BD. Have you checked out your local Photo store?
  
  The Bogen-Manfrotto 725B Digi Tripod with Integrated Ball Head with Dove Tail Plate and Carrying Bag (Black) is going for @$112.00 on Amazon.com (free shipping). It's getting rave reviews. Read the reviews but go with caution.
  
  I have a Quantary from Ritz photo and it absolutely sucks!. I let the salesman - and my wallet -talk me into it. I'm in desperate need of an upgrade! (I'm in desperate need of a lotto win, but that's another issue).
  
  Don't cheap out on a tripod, as I've learned.

    Hi Geder:
    Thanks so much for the info. I'll check out the 725B to see what it looks like. BTW, is there any advantage to a having a separate ball head? I know the 3001 BD did not come with one. I was going purchase a separate Bogen ball head. I have two major shops close to me - B & H and Adorama. I'll see what they have to offer this weekend.
