I have very eclectic taste in books, music etc. I have lots of favorite books. My very favorite was Lord of the Rings. But right up there are many many others - The World According to Garp, The Silver Brumby, The Life of Pi, A Fine Balance, Flight of the White Wolf, Island of the Blue Dolphins, Call of the Wild. I could go on - there are so many wonderful books out there! Who have I left out?

My list of favorites is almost as big as my TBR pile! Right now I'm reading 24 Hours by Greg Iles, and even though I saw the movie, I cannot put the book down.

One of my stock answers for favorite book is The Time Traveller's Wife. I didn't want that one to end.

For thought provoking, and one that I still can't get out of my head -- A Prayer Before Dying. It's not an easy story to read, but it certainly is powerful and memorable.

I could go on and on, but I'll save some for the next post. :)

I don't think I could answer that w/ just one title! I loved LOTR & read that several times many, many years ago. I also love The Secret Life of Bees (such good taste, MzBubbles!) some historical fiction by Sharon Kay Penman. Also The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon is probably my all time favorite. And yes, sorry, Harry Potter!!!

RIght now though I'm reading through all of LM Montgomery's books. I really liked the Anne of Greene Gables books.

This year, the best books for me have been Lying With Strangers/James Grippando, The Secret/Rhonda Byrne, The Attractor Factor/Joe Vitale, Real Murders/Charlaine Harris, The Spellman Files/Lisa Lutz, Twilight/Stephanie Meyer, Heart-Spaped Box/Joe Hill.

Hmmm...a mixture of the law of attraction, sick love, murder, and horror - that doesn't sound good, does it.

Crap - how could I have forgotten about the Chronicles of Narnia! I loved The Magician's Nephew, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair the best but they were all great books. The Horse and His Boy was my least favorite of the books.

My favorite recent read was The Secret Life of Bees--I laughed, I cried. Didn't want it to end. Will probably read it again sometime.

My most all time favorite is a book I've never seen anyone say they read. Handling Sin by Michael Malone. It is fall on the floor funny and it is southern fiction, both great qualities in books. I can't even tell you why it's my favorite, it's just a weird, quircky book.

Well, mine would surely be a handful, such as "The Celestine Prophecy" by James Redfield, the two books on my shelf in Shelfari by Dan Millman, "Le voyage de Théo" by Catherine Clément, and "Mutant message down under" by Marlo Morgan. They came, as everything, at the right moment in my life in such crucial crossroads of important decisions to make. I recommend their reading.
Cheers
