I've just added "The Stress Of Her Regard" by Powers. Whilst he has won a couple of awards for "The Annubis Gates" and "Dinner At Deviants Palace", he still seems to be a little too far below the radar for my liking. Perhaps it is due to his association with PKD or his being far from prolific, but his novels are so well researched that you really believe he has had an insight into actual events experienced by the historical figures he uses to populate his works.

TSOHR involves the romantic poets Keats and Shelley and an interesting take on vampirism. Not usually my cup of tea, but I was hooked from start to finish!

Another of his novels worth consideration as an introduction would be "Declare".

I'm a big fan of all his work. "Anubis Gates" and "Declare" are my favorites, for power of ideas.

Why, I read TSOHR too! A while back...too long ago to remember much.

I think I need to find some more of his books. May be the only one I've read?? Yikes!
