June 28th is the day Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie were gunned down by Gavrilo Princip. This led more or less directly to about 11 million other deaths in the Great War and 100 million more caused by the Spanish Flu epidemic, spread (if not caused directly -- let's be serious) by said war. Nice going, hotshot. At least you accomplished your larger goal of putting the Habsburgs out of their jobs, and isn't that the important thing here?
It's the day Jim and Naomi Oliver were killed by their daughter and her dazed boyfriend. See the book I just sent a copy of to Bella -- Bad Blood by Richard Levine.
It's the day Israel Lipski killed his pregnant landlady, Miriam Angel, provoking such hatred that his name was still being used as an ethnic slur against all the Jews in London at the time of the Ripper murders -- see any book on the Ripper crimes or The Trials Of Israel Lipski.
It's the day Susan Curtis died at the hands of Ted Bundy. God knows what he did to her after that, but it was probably pretty terrible. At least she didn't feel it.
It's the day GG Allin finally died of an accidental overdose. Praise be unto the Gods of Morphine and the Bayer Company for inventing the heroin that killed his hideous a$$. He was one of those guys who runs through the raindrops without getting wet all his life. He deserved lengthy prison stays for a lot of what he did. See The Encyclopedia of Dead Rock Stars for lightened-up details of his one-man crime spree, or I Was A Murder Junkie: The Last Days Of GG Allin if you have a strong stomach.
It's the day D.C. Stephenson finally died, more than 40 years after he inadvertently killed poor Madge Oberholtzer while raping her and biting her everywhere, over and over and over, after luring her over to his house on some pretext, whereupon she was kidnapped by him and some of his terrorist cronies. May the poor creature rest in peace (Madge, I mean -- not Stephenson, the drunken tub of sex-offending KKK filth). If you think you can stomach it, read Grand Dragon for details.
Pardon the editorializing today -- it's just too frikkin' hot out to be tactful.
