WWYD- What Would You Do? Capacity to Drive and General Public's Safety

    Save Changes Cancel

If your mother and/or father seemed to be losing their capacity to drive safely? Complications to situation-Parent is unreasonable and has tendency to conspiracy theories and such..another words a sweet little old lady to the general public with a carefully concealed paranoid, narcissistic demon double. No ouija board needed to achieve evil intimacy. lol Seriously WWYD

Mom was diagnosed with vision problems--50 % blind. Yesterday saw on Msnbc that Virginia Tech has invented auto for blind people to drive. Maybe problem is already solved..at least going in the right direction.....lol....hopefully!!

About the paranoid, narcissistic demon double I mentioned earlier, it seems I was quite remiss in forgetting to mention I do love her. Happy in being confident that these types of mysteries abound in my life. Really she does engage in a bit too much double talk..in that she repeats the same story over and over. Enough already! Please for God's sake row your boat ashore!

Days Later: Ironically my Mom married my Dad who specialized in what occupation? Bringing boats/ships safely to shore... Tugboat.

O wow, that's a stressful question! Sounds like we have some similar issues emerging....

I have realized recently that my mom is developing some very disturbing problems with both memory/ cognition and with vision... I didn't realize how bad it had gotten til spending most of last week with her... :-( I am now seriously concerned!

So, what would *I* do? Er, well, so far I've had a few very strong cocktails, as well as several very disturbing dreams about the situation.... when I figure out a more productive strategy, I'll report back! I' *have* (with much effort!) talked her into seeing a doc early next week; vision exam too/ same day, hopefully, if I can get it scheduled right...

Hard stuff to deal with... I don't really feel equipped, do you? (guess it doesn't matter, right?! gotta deal anyway, bleh) Maybe we'll figure it out somehow... I'm sending positive energy @ you & your mom! Good luck. Scary stuff.

      Hi Tanya,
Thank you for the positive energy. Right back at you! That reminds me..did you hear the scoop awhile back about energy drinks? Supposedly they are about 2 to 3 times worse than soda for your tooth enamel. Its super late so I better hit the hay.

DAYS LATER: My mom had injections of Avastin shot directly into her eye to prevent bleeding. Avastin is also used to stop new blood vessel growth to brain tumors. Problem is --what if it cuts off the oxygen to brain in certain areas and causes memory loss, stroke?

      Hello Again Tanya,
In answer to your question..Do I feel equipped? Yes and no. However, please notice that Yes is capitalized and no is in lowercase.

Quotes: ''We must combine the toughness of the serpent with the softness of the dove.'' ''A tough mind and a tender heart.'' I happen to be reading ''A Testament of Hope'' The Essential Writings and Speeches of Martin Luther King, Jr. The quotes are from 54. The Strength to Love

Later : Quotes: ''The strong man holds in a living blend strongly marked opposites. Not ordinarily do men achieve this balance of opposites. The idealists are not usually realistic, and the realists are not usually idealistic. The militant are not generally known to be passive, nor the passive militant.Seldom are the humble self-assertive,or the self-assertive humble. But life at it's best is a creative synthesis of opposites in fruitful harmony. The philosopher Hegel said that truth is found neither in the thesis or antithesis, but in an emergent synthesis which reconciles the two.''

In relation to my mom's circumstance I think of the literal example of TongueTalk..the science of synthesizing the senses.

Who would think that religion/science could come together? The author Kurzweil's book ''The Singularity is Near'' is perhaps speaking of the same idea as Martin Luther only using different means to express.

    HI Tanya,
Yes I already dealt with it. I wrote to DMV (confidential letter)I guess it's no longer confidential once it is on the internet is it? Thats O.K. since I told her face 2 face about the DMV letter. This is when the demon/double problem started to rear it's ugly head. Obviously when people get older the DMV needs to update health/eye checks much more than they do.

Changing the subject... since we enjoy books/words so much I was wondering what you think about this..The names for educational degrees from universities..Bachelors degree/Masters degree. These terms are archiac. Created when women were not allowed an education..And to realize the worldwide educational system has not changed the terms speaks volumes. Bootylicious has been added to the urban dictionary..Personally since Beyonce is a black woman I believe she would be interested in abolishing the word Master from the educational system in the United States. Mentioning Beyonce's song "Put a Ring On It'' Wouldn't the term ''Bachelor'' naturally aggravate her? LOL Supposedly the dope oops I think I meant pope who was involved in the official''Bachelor's Degee" initiation process also had an official proclamation that cats were evil and people started killing cats, wherefore the rats uncontrollablly reproduced. In conclusion the Plague happened and needlessly killed how many people? O.k I admit my source was Wikipedia and I know, I know it's not to be used as a research tool. I've heard the idea mentioned in conversations/lectures at universities that there is speculation that people who are immune to certain aids/hiv viruses may get their immunity from their long lost relatives/survivors of the plague. Maybe the survivors were the ones that kept their pet cats! LOL

Hello Out There in Virtual World!!
I have some RWB (Real World Business) to attend to. Housekeeping..major time. Why do I find it so unappealing? As my friend Tanya would say ''BLEH! Hard stuff to deal with'' and No I don't feel equipped..in the least. Overwhelmed is the word I am looking for. The good thing about a perfect mess is that by practicing constantly skipping through the obstacle course you've set up for yourself... you are gradually improving upon your physical/mental dexterities and teaching yourself to overcome. However...do not let the housework become so out of control that you would begin contemplating if it would be worth your while to call in a Military Assault Obstacle Course Team to get the job done!

    HI Liane O,

I usually prefer being honest with my mom, even if it means the relationship will eventually be diminished and most likely end.
