Looking for a new Steampunk book.....

    Save Changes Cancel
Hi! I just finished the Gail Carriger series, 'The Court of the Air', and 'The Curious Case of the Clockwork Man'. They were all well done and I plan on reading the other novels penned by both Stephen Hunt and Mark Hodder but I was wondering if anyone has read any other fun, engaging Steampunk novels lately? Any recommendations would be welcome!
    Thanks!

I really enjoyed Cherie Priest and George Mann. There is also The Glass Books of the Dream Eaters by Dahlquist, not your traditional steam punk but really good.

Also I'm sure you would love the unnamed China Mieville trilogy that hosts Perdido Street Station, The Scar, and The Iron Council. Just fantastic.

Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld is one I read recently, the sequel to another book which I cannot remember the title of, but it will be easy to find on Amazon. This is ostensibly a YA series, but will appeal to adults too and has rather nice illustrations which suit it admirably.

Another steampunk classic is Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by the sadly not very prolific Susannah Clark. A long book but well worth reading.

I'm also looking for some recommendations, and have just bought a copy of Mark Hodder's The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack so hope that I will enjoy it and that it is as good as it looks.

I just finished 'The Curious Case of the Clockwork Man' by Mark Hodder and LOVED it! You will have to let me know if the first book is as good as the second! You may also want to try 'The Map of Time' by Felix J. Palma. It was incredibly interesting and kept my head working with the space time continuum ideas! Thank you for the responses!

"Steampunk'd" is a lot of fun. It's a collection of stories by some pretty good authors.

If you like juvenile fiction, I recommend the "Larklight" series. Quick, fun, easy reads. I've also recently read "Clockwork Heart," which is pretty good.

I don't know if it would technically be considered Steampunk, but The Prestige was great!

I suggest Clockwork Angels. Neil pert helped write it and rush wrote an album with the book. Highly suggest you get both.
