    Superhero Romances or Romantic Fantasies?

Read any? Heard of Any? I can only think of a few, Julie Kenner's Aphrodite series and Jennifer Estep's Big Time series. Surely there must be more out there. If you know of one please let us know.

How about Karma Girl by Jennifer Estep. Dorchester Shomi will soon be releasing Phenomenal Girl 5 by A. J. Menden. What others can you come up with?

"Playing With Fire" by Gena Showalter, perhaps?

I haven't read this book myself, but when I read the cover blurb in the shop it made me think of superheroes. The heroine suddenly acquires the supernatural ability to control the elements after a scientist slips some kind of concoction into her coffee.

Playing with Fire by Gena Showalter

    Synopsis

    "Belle Jamison, Superhero?

Used to be, my greatest achievement was holding a job more than three days. Now, suddenly I can shoot fireballs, chill your drink, or blow-dry your hair at fifty paces with a blink of my eye! It all started when a crazy scientist dropped something in my Grande Mocha Latte. Of course I got wicked sick. Next morning, I'm waking up with a major hottie bending over me. He tells me 1) his name's Rome Matthews, 2) he's a government agent, and 3) I can control the four elements with a thought. He seems even less pleased by my (apparently irreversible) transformation than I am because now he'll have to kill me. Still. I didn't make this bed of trouble, but Rome sure wants me to lie in it. . . with him."

Sure sounds like a superhero romance, thanks Sylvia

I was a little unsure that I would like this book, but I decided to take a chance and went back and bought it.
Just finished reading it this morning. It was great! Interesting, well-developed characters and a fast-paced plot... it's funny, sexy, and there's plenty of action. It's written in 1st person so you get to know the heroine very well. Because of this, you don't get as much insight into how the hero thinks and feels, but that didn't detract too much from my enjoyment of the story. I will definitely be looking for more books by Gena Showalter. :)

    Here's another one I found:

INTRODUCING SONIKA by Eilis Flynn / Cerridwen Press

    Synopsis:

"Physical therapist Sonya Penn, the daughter of super-heroes, gave up her training as a super-hero when her parents were killed in a confrontation with their arch-enemy, Gentleman Geoffrey. Her "ordinary" life comes to an abrupt end when she finds herself attracted to John Arlen, her newest client, and his plans to avenge his father, who was murdered by the son of Gentleman Geoffrey. Sonya finds herself at the crossroads of her destiny: Will she don the uniform she was meant to? Complicating matters is a small thing -- someone's trying to kill John. Is it Geoffrey's son, or someone else?"

Looks like I may have found another one. This one is an erotic paranormal.

SOUNDWAVE'S SURRENDER by Leila Brown / Changeling Press

    Synopsis:

"Soundwave is a Super who can bring down any man with her voice alone. Too bad she hasn’t been able to bring down General Pane. But now he’s on the run and she has a score to settle. And she’s going to make sure he pays up. General Pane has a score of his own to settle. After all, it’s Soundwave’s fault he’s being hunted. He’s lost his job, his identity, and if he’s not careful his life could be next. With Soundwave firmly in his grasp, he’ll stop at nothing to make her pay. Even if he has to tie her up and gag her."

If you want books about humans with powers, how about the Dirk and Steele series by Marjorie M. Liu? I truly love those books. There are shapeshifters in them also, but mostly humans.

Some of these sound really interesting. May have to try them out once I get through my current TBR pile. ;)

And I've just found another one...

"Ultra Violet" (Silhouette Intrigue) by Ellen Henderson

    Synopsis:

Violet Marsh, who has gone out of her way to live the most ordinary life possible, wakes up one morning to find she's lost five days--and gained a few superpowers. The police think she's a nut, and she's beginning to think she is, too, when someone tries to kidnap her. She foils the kidnapper with the help of Natalie, an employee of Gideon Enterprises. And though she doesn't want to trust anyone, she has nowhere else to turn except to this shadowy "security" organization. At least the people there believe her. And they have proof that someone kidnapped her in the form of a video.

Gideon recruits Violet to help his team with a "mission"--to break into the headquarters of SynCor. She pretends to go along, but her real motive is to get possession of that video so the police will believe her. But gradually she comes to realize the mission, though highly dangerous and highly illegal, is the only way to go. Complicating her moral dilemmas is her attraction to Jackson, a macho team member who is as mysterious as he is sexy.

Just finished reading Jinx the 3rd in the Bigtime Superhero Series by Jennifer Estep, and Phenomenal Girl 5, 1st in the Elite Hands of Justice Series, and debut novel of A. J. Menden. Both books were good. I would have to say that PG5 was exceptional though.
