  Same Name, Different Authors

  New Title

  

  My name is Jim Slaughter and I have two books being published this fall, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Parliamentary Procedure Fast-Track (out today!) and Notes and Comments on Robert's Rules, Fourth Edition (due out in November). My author page has these two books, as well as 8 other Westerns written in the late 60's and 70's (not by me).

  How can I pull those other books not by me off of my specific author page? Or does someone else do that at my request?
  
  Thanks! My apologies if this is an easily fixed issue, but the solution is not readily apparent to me.

  First, check and see if the other Jim Slaughter already has an author page (when you type in Jim Slaughter in the contributor field, wait until the drop down list appears and see how many Jim Slaughters show up on the list). If there is another page, then select the correct Jim Slaughter from that list. If there is not page already for the other Jim Slaughter you can create one by changing the contributor on those books to Jim Slaughter (temp). By including "(temp)" you will insure that a new page is created. Now change all the other books by that author to Jim Slaughter (temp). It should show up in the drop down list. Once you have all correct books directed to the new author page, go to that author page and edit the author's name to remove the "(temp)".

  Thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately, when I tried that for one of the older books, I simply got a response that: "Changes to primary contributors require approval by a Shelfari Librarian. You can view the approval status of this and all your other change requests on your edit history page." If they don't know what I'm trying to do, will the changes likely be approved? Anyone to contact directly?

    Hi Jim--Certain changes to book information on Shelfari are reviewed and approved by our Shelfari Librarians and changes to the author (primary contributor) for the book are one of those items.
