Is it me or has the world gone completely insane?

I have just tried to post a description to Martin Windrow's "German Fighters of WWII"
and Shelfari accuses me of inappropriate behaviour, to wit:

    "Your change(s) included inappropriate text:
    ... volume covers Focke-Wulf, Heinkel...
Please update your change and remember, you promised to keep your contributions clean: nothing libelous, hateful, or illegal."

What is there "libelous, hateful, or illegal" about this?

Someone please explain, because it looks to me like some Shelfari sysop has been smoking inappropriate substances.

My guess is that Focke is too close to another less innocent word. I know that there have been a number of editors complaining of foreign words that are close to inappropriate English words being blocked.

Thanks for the reply. If you're right, though, I was right and it is insane. The Germans made over 20,000 Focke-Wulfs, a figure that is reflected in the huge number of books written about them. And there are scores of them on Shelfari!

Looking through past posts on this subject, I find that this "filter" has never worked properly, in spite of being in place for over a year, but obviously no one at Shelfari gives a damn about sorting out their errors. Well, if that's their attitude, I shan't waste any more time on this sub-Mickey Mouse site.

Hi CJ--Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Our term filter is the same one used on Amazon.com and the issue is the word "Focke". I'm not sure if there's something we can do considering there are a variety of books with "Focke" in the title already in our catalog. I'll talk to our team.

Did anyone notice when you create a group and edit the group settings, the part which tells you that you can post your group's blog or website down doesn't work? Or is it just me? Or is it in another place? Hmmm... I am confused.

You're correct, it is not displaying anywhere except when you edit the group settings. It's something we should either remove or fix so it displays in the group description. For now, I'd encourage you to add a link to your group description if you have a blog or website associated with your group.
