Anyone read Blockade Billy or The girl who loved Tom Gordon? I'm reading Billy now; TG was great. Are any of SK's other books about baseball?

He's got a non-fiction cowritten with Stewart O'Nan about the Red Sox winning the 2004 World Series. It's called Faithful: Two Diehard Boston Red Sox Fans Chronicle the Historic 2004 Season.

And he's written the foreword to Fenway: 100 that just got out.

You could probably find some other articles related to King and Baseball as well, since he's a big fan. He contributed to the building of a field in Maine and is a great supporter of both Little and Major League events.

The short story Head Down, in Nightmares and Dreamscapes is about a small town baseball team. I really liked the story, as much for the small town ambiance as the subject matter. I have not read either the Red Sox book, or Blockade Billy (though I did give the Red Sox book to my brother in law when it was released, as he is an uber-fan of the team).

      LOL. Wow, what a memory.

I just need to see if I can get my library to scrounge it up for me.

      Thanks again Wayne.

Ha! Not necessarily a good memory. I just read that collection way too many times through (mostly listening to it on cassette back in the day). I hope you enjoy the book. Its old enough now that a library shouldn't have a hard time producing one for you :-)
