Did anyone watch the Bag of Bones mini-series?

I watched part 1 but haven't gotten around to part 2 yet. Just wondering if anyone else watched it and what they thought.

I've seen it. It was another example of the rule "Stephen King's books are always better than the movies". Although Pierce Brosnan was a good surprise. Trouble is the book was so long and the miniseries so short, it was bound to have less of an impact.

I agree, I was pretty excited about it. I wasn't real happy with Pierce Brosnan playing Mike, I didn't think it was a good match. The story was definitely rushed and a lot of stuff missed.

It came across the same way that IT did when it first aired. Too much story in so little time. A lot of the detail is missed and a lot of it is important.

I only got to watch part of Bag of Bones but what I did see wasn't bad.

I've got it recorded. I have to watch it on principle, but I'm not a huge Pierce Brosnan fan. I also heard from a coworker that it a was kind of cheesy. Bag of Bones has always been one of my favorites, and I'm a little nervous to watch the mini-series.

I watched on principle as well, and, while it was pretty decent for a TV adaptation, it definitely suffered from abridgement and simplification.

No, I was too scared. I just got up the courage to read The Shining earlier this year, so I wasn't read to try my luck. I also much prefer to read Stephen King than watch the movie.

I saw it and I liked it. I thought it dragged out a little bit, especially the first night.

For me, the first half was the better half. If you like the book you're going to be disappointed.

I haven't seen it yet. I wanted to but I kept missing it. I guess I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. I usually don't expect the movies/tv series to be nearly as good as the books. There was one that I thought was better than the book and that was Salem's Lot. But I could tell from the preview of Bag of Bones that they had changed some things which really irritates me.

I watched it. I didn't think it was that bad; it wasn't as good as the book but it was decent... I didn't think the acting was that good, it was slow, a bit melodramatic, and I found it annoying how they changed some things in it that I felt were important. :\

It's been awhile since I've read the book. I didn't mind Pierce as Mike. I defiantly did not like the crazy lady. Not horrible, not fantastic either. I didn't think the lye scene was in the book?

Not good. Most King adaptions suck, this one included.

I agree with everything everyone is saying. Not a good adaptation.
