The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Steven Chbosky is by far the best teen fiction I've read.

I'm guessing you're not looking for series like Harry Potter or Twilight. Are you looking for something similar to that?

If you are looking for a series (I'm sure you've heard it before) But Hunger Games is great and so is The Maze Runner Trilogy
The Book Thief is a great read and so are The Escape From Furnace books...

    The Chrysalids by John Wyndham
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
    Dune by Frank Herbert
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card – best sci fi ever!
The Gunslinger Series by Stephen King
Also, Firestarter, Dead Zone, The Stand and The Shining by Stephen King
    Lightning by Dean Koontz
Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit by J R R Tolkien
    Farside Cartoons by Gary Larson
The Narnia books by C S Lewis - if you haven't already read them when you were younger
Dragon books by Anne McCaffrey, although these may appeal more to girls
A Wizard of Earthsea, by Ursula K LeGuin - sparse not wordy. Almost poetic in the way it is written. Fantastic

Some fantasy that you may like is the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik - it starts with His Majesty's Dragon. Any of the books by Mercedes Lackeyare good, but I think the early Valdemar books are some of her best.

Have you ever tried andy classic romances? Jane Austin is perfect. I also like Jane Eyre. I also have a soft spot for Georgette Heyer. A few of my favorite Heyer books are - The Masqueraders, These Old Shades and The Unknown Ajax.

Some great titles in YA paranromal

The Sweep Series: great for a high school age girl because it is about magic and love. The people are real, the storylines are great, and the series isn't about a race for the kiss or the making love, it is about really falling in love against all magical odds

Halo: a great teen read, it is funny, upbeat, and sweet hearted

Arched Wing: if you like a bit more action, suspense, thriller, and a book that breaks out of the books and rules then this is the one for you. It is about a witch in love with a half demon who has to stop the rise of the second devil

Fever Series: a very dark series about a college girl who goes to dublin and finds out she is magical
