First time post.
Just wanted to list two books I recently read for another group.
1. Rhinos for Lunch and Elephants for Supper by Tololwa M. Mollel its a Maasai tale and its just a cute little 4 star book that will make you giggle and laugh. The hero is a frog and the villain is a ........If you want to know message me, I just don't want to give it away. Would make a great bedtime story.
2. Can You Guess My Name? by Judy Sierra. It is about the tales from around the world that are similar, for example, The Three Little Pigs, The Bremen Town Musicians, Rumpelstiltskin, The Frog Prince. It gives 3 examples of each tale from other cultures to show the stories are universal and fun enough for children all over the world. I really enjoyed seeing how there are similarities and yet so far apart in the world. For example the 3 little pigs were three geese ( Italy) Hansel and Gretel was called the cake tree ( Sri Lanka)
The story line is the same but there are definite cultural differences. 3 stars.
Anyone else have something to add about these books?
