    Starships and spaceships

Just started a group page solely focussed on starships, lets get down to talking about what makes most stories in science fiction possible.

I've always loved the U.S.S. Reliant from Star Trek II. Why did they HAVE to throw in that Nebula? WHY? Plus the Enterprise kept showing up behind Reliant and never the other way around! Not fair. Greg Cox wrote a series of books involving Khan which were great! I also loved seeing the fancy Romulan warbirds in Nemesis. Rules of Engagement was a great Star Trek novel where there's a special Klingon Bird of Prey involved. Okay well enough of my geekness....off to watch Batman Begins again. :)

Well hmmm lets see, why did enterprise keep showing up behind Reliant, I think Spock explained it as Khan just fighting based on 2 dimensional thinking while enterprise rose up to the occasion (fighting in a 3D pattern).

They went into the nebulae to even the odds between both ships as outside the nebulae, reliant had the edge as it had previously damaged enterprise in what amounted to a sucker punch.

I agree, warbirds in Nemesis were cool. Always nice to see a new starship design.

That would most likey be pronounced Aventeen, i suspect. I read the Destiny trilogy a short time ago. I always liked Dax, both Jadzia and Ezri. I really liked Ezri Dax as Captain. I can hardly wait to get a look at what the ship looks like.

I like the design of the Star Gazer and the Hathaway. Nice balanced four warp star ships. Creates a nice balanced warp field. It is a shame that Star Fleet prefers the off balanced warp field design created by off center twin warp nacelle designs like the NCC-1701 Enterprise. The ability to extend a starship's warp field around another starship is limited capability at best.
