J.R. Ward in her sixt book, Lover Enshrined, makes one of the younger warriors gay, and another bi. For the rest nothing really comes to mind. There will be some secondary characters no doubt, but a hero? Can't think about one.

You know, I've been searching for the same thing, and damned if I can find any. The closest I've come to finding something like this is in The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, where everyone is...omnisexual? I mean, they'll do anything that moves -.-

There is a bi vamp in Kim Harrison's Hallows series.
Oh yeah I'm familar with Ivy.. The Kim Harrison books were the first ones I read that really pulled me in... I'm reading some now with a gay character.. You would think that since vampires are so sexual there would be more bi characters at least... Of course as I read more I'm finding apparently werewolves are even more sexual... no matter what series I'm read I just keep getting suprised..

Marrion Bradley has some lesbo characters. Gay characters are growing in popularity since Anne Rice. Lesbian, not so much. Although there were always a bit around the edges (Lesbianism being more commonly accepted and ever coveted by the masses of hetero male audiences). Maybe the problem is that most heros in Fantasy/ SciFi are still male...

Kate Douglas has the Wolf Tales with every kindof group and combo. If you don't need them to be vamps.

I don't. Thanks. I will check it out. :)

Lynn Viehl has some gay vampires in her last books too. Not the hero, but some secondary characters.

Sweet. I'll add all these to my ever growing library.

In the Southern Vampire series I believe the vamp named Eric has an assistant that's a possible lesbian vamp. Or least it seems like it might be heading that way from what I read in 'From Worse to Dead', the newest book in the series.
Yes, one of the vampires in the Sookie Stackhouse series is lesbian...I can't remember her name right now (and the latest book is 'From Dead to Worse').
I've been looking for lesbian ones myself. you would think that they would have more off the norm. Laurell K. Hamilton' s Anita Blake series .. Anita does have a few moments with a fem vampire. its in one of the last two books i think. and she makes out with a syren, but mostly its her and one to a few men. there is some man on man mixed into

You're right about the Southern Vampire series, that vamp is totally gay her name is Pam and I think she's going to have a relationship with Sookie's friend.
Yup Pam is Bi. She made the comment or Erik made the comment that you live as long as they do you try it all. I even think Erik has at one point tried the other side. *Shrugs

I just recall another maybe lesb vamp in the Queen Betsy series, I think Tina, Eric Sinclair assistant might be gay because in one of the books she kinda "notices" a girl who was with the vamp hunter kids.
In the Queen Betsy series, the guy who lives with them, the docter, is gay.
Tina definitely goes for girls! And the Dr. is gay, but they never talk about his love3 life - he's definitely an underdeveloped character in the series!

Lesbian/Bi/Gay paranormals are more common in the ebook world, I do believe. I know there are some available from my publisher Phaze Books. If you read ebooks (or want to try them), that might be a great place to start looking.

I know I have a lesbian paranormal romance on my "back burner" but I've got other stories that come before that one. Better get to work...

It may be more historical/fantasy than you're looking for, but in A Companion to Wolves the cast is mostly gay. And it's mainstream. It's about viking warriors bonded to wolves.

If you're seriously wanting some I can point you in the right direction. I'm a huge m/m book lover. Ebooks are the way to go for sure. Loose Id, Amber Allure, Changeling, Total -e-bound, Samhain, Ellora's Cave, Linden Bay, Phaze just to name a few publishers.
