I read LEn and certainly enjoyed it more than V's book. I almost didn't buy it because V so disappointed me. There were only 1 or 2 surprises for me in this book and I understand she is writing Rhev's book now. Not looking forward to that because Rhev has never been on my hot vamp list but guess I'll have to so I can keep up with whats up with the other brothers. LOL How did you like it?

I enjoyed it! I read one reviewer who was disappointed because they didn't think it really was just Phury and Cormia's story...and I agree with that BUT I was happy with the other elements that were included and the progression of several different plotlines and character developments.

I finished it last night, but I'm still a little unsure how I feel about it. There were parts I really enjoyed but there were also parts that I felt like didn't flow well with the storyline...they were kind of like a highlight reel from something happening elsewhere. The story would be moving along and then suddenly we'd get a flash of something totally unrelated, then the story would pick back up again. Maybe it's just me - but I found it a little distracting. I also got tired of Phury's wallowing and found myself rooting (on several occasions) for Cormia to haul off and smack him a good one.

All that aside, I liked it better than V's book.

I tend to read thru a Brotherhood book, think on it for a few days and then go back and read it again, excluding all the Omega and Lesser stuff and the story usually flows better in my mind. This book might be more difficult to do that because so many other arcs are running through it as well. I was much happier with the stories of Wrath, Rhage and Z because there was more focus on the 2 main characters. As Phury has always put everyone else before himself I'm not surprised that the story does that as well. I was surprised by a couple of the glimpses of the other characters and the exchange between Lassiter and V was priceless. As I said earlier, I expect I'll read Rhev's story simply to keep up with whats going on with the other Brothers but he's never captured my attention or made me care about him. Now Lassiter? Yeah baby!

I have to agree that this wasn't Phury and Cormia's book, Ward has a lot going on in the saga these days and the most recent books reflect that. I'm also with Needlesmith that Rhev is not my favorite, but I absolutely want to see more of Lassiter. Not to mention find out what will happen when Payne gets introduced.

I think the books started out as paranormal romance but are definitely leaning more towards urban fantasy, without as much romance. I'm fine with that, though. I love all the stories she's opening up with the plot developments. I'm very excited about Lassiter and Payne. And, though Rehv has never been my fave either, I'm looking forward to his book, if just for the continuing progression of the rest of the stories.

I thought LEn was 1000% better than LU. Prior to LEn's release, I decided to re-read the books. However, when I got to LU, I found myself skimming to the Phury parts because I knew what happened there was going to really set up Len.
I think the WARDen is moving away from the romance being the main storyline and I really don't have a problem with that. What's going on in this world is so much bigger. I mean, we all know they are going to end up HEA. I think the direction really started to change in LR with the introduction of the Dehstroyer and is just continuing. The focus of LU was not on the love story betweeh V & Jane. He was recovering in the hospital, got pissed at Manny and said 'she's coming with me'. Basically, I think the attraction/bonding is a chemical thing. Once they meet, that's it. Remember, when Beth first met Wrath - she was scared then thought 'he's gorgeous' and practically starting ripping her clothes off. Z terrified Bella in the gym but when she spoke to Mary she asked about him, then first chance she got, she followed him to his bedroom.
As to the Phury/Wizard thing, I found his conversations with his subconscious to be very sad. With all the real problems Z had as a result of his imprisonment, he had much more self-worth than Phury did. I think Phury's problems began with his parents' reaction to Z's kidnapping - they seemed to forget they had another child and completely ignored him. To me it isn't a wonder he was so screwed up.

So I finished it today. I was a little disappointed. THere was almost no interaction between Phury and the other guys in the Brotherhood. That has always been the part that I liked the best of this series was the interaction between them. The relationship between Phury and Cormia was almost secondary. I did like how she explained about the Omega and how come he is the way he is. I have always like Rhevenge, not sure about the relationship between John and Xhex. Didn't see the whole Blay sub story line. I definetly liked Lassiter and his snarkiness and the interaction between him V, Butch and Rhage. Am really glad the Thor is back, and that he still loves John.
I do have to say that I do miss the relationship between the guys and their shellans, I hope that she doesn't stop that. I think that she would be doing all of her romance fans a grave disservice if she did.

As others have said, V's book disappointed..... but this book kicked butt! It's my new fave in the series (tied with Z's book). I loves how Cormia reated to all the new stuff around her, and how Phury took charge with all the chosen. I'm interested on seeing if Blay or Qhinn get a book..... i hope so. Can't wait for the next one. There is a BDB companion book coming out in October.... should be interesting. But Lover Avenged (Rhev's book) has been pushed back to May 2009! Oh well, just gotta re-read the whole series again......

I'm so glad someone else liked it as much as I did! I loved all the developments with Blay, Qhinn and John Matthew. I'm hoping for individual books for them too. May 2009?!?!?!? Booooooo. :-(

I also loved the book. Didn't mind the lesser role for romance a bit! I don't like Phury very much, he just feels sorry for himself.
I loved the plotlines with the three boys, and of course the fact that Thorment is back! And now almost a whole year to wait? pfff.

Okay I finished LE and well I just don't feel like this was Phury and Cormia's book they took a backseat to the secondary characters which was okay cause Phury was whiney.

So I absolutely loved it! I felt there was so much packed into the book and I didn't feel overwhelmed with it. I just never wanted it to end! I must admit my mind was pulled in many a direction with thoughts for all the characters. I didn't feel Phury was whining though. I actually found this book insightful. The struggle within him was so great!! I had no idea. And Cormia - what a trooper!!! And the boys, definitely a fave to read about. How I love John and his friends. Everything is changing in the BDB world and I can't wait to see what happens next!
