Ive read all of these except for No Humans Involved and Heart of the Flame. Might add Women of the Otherworld series to by TBR for 2013.
A Discovery of Witches took me a really, really long time! Ugh. It was good though. I have book 2 on my TBR.

Jessica - I am so glad you said that! I have been reading A Discovery of Witches for about a month now and I am only half way through it. I am really liking it.. but it is taking me so long!

I would definitely recommend the Women of the Otherworld series. I am working my way through them. I think the last one in the series was just released, the 13th one I think. So I am over halfway through the series now.

It took me along time to read A Discovery of Witches too. I think I got bogged down a few times in all of the alchemical theory. I really enjoyed the story but didn't enjoy that stuff :).

I agree with Erin. The alchemical theory was difficult for me to follow so, i took my time. Sometimes i just skimmed through it because I was overwhelmed. I believe it took me around month as well and that was the only book i was reading!

I may add Women of the Otherworld series to my recommendation list for 2013. Many of you have suggested it.

I actually have Shadow of Night checked out of the library right now and am dragging my feet at starting it because I'm having flashbacks of slogging through the theory parts to get to the good parts during DoW. I did see that Shadow of Night won best PR on goodreads I think so that has really helped with the motivation issues :).

I would recommend Women of the Otherworld as well, Jessica!

    I'm currently reading 6 books.

Betrayal in Bella Terra - Chirstina Dodd
    The Shadows - L. A. Banks
If Angel's Burn - Lynn Viehl
A Touch Mortal - Leah Clifford (Young Adult)
    Fifty Shades Darker - E. L. James
Raven's Strike - Patricia Briggs (hope to finish this 2day)

Normally I try not to read more than 4 books at a time: a young adult, library borrowd, a classic, a romance, but with the library offering ebooks now I'm all outta sorts and so happy. I'm just so glad I found a way to keep track of what I've read and what I want to read next. I have 4 seperate powerpoint presentations with all the books I want to buy, borrow, or want to re-read from when I was younger. There are a few more books I plan on reading before this month is over.

    Eagle Strike - Anthony Horowitz
The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes - Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
    The Thirteenth - L. A. Banks
    Magic Dreams - Ilona Andrews
    River Marked - Patricia Briggs
    & a couple others. . .

    Special A vol 1 - Maki Minami - ★★★★
    Special A vol 2 - Maki Minami - ★★★★

I like the characters and the storyline ,but i felt like she repeated some of the lines too many times ,but other then that i plan on reading the other 15 volumes.

Fall In Love Like A Comic vol 2 - Chitose Yagami - ★★★★

This was such a cute comic ,funny storyline ,i kinda wish it had more volumes .

    ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
    Nauti Temptress - Lora Leigh - ★★★

Um the book was good , but i felt like when we frist meet Dawg's sisters that they cut the storyline off too soon ,Eve is an ok character but at times she upset me ,and i liked Borgan but there were times when i wanted to shake some sense in to them , this book felt really rushed and it seemed like this were pages missing, the end felt really unfinished and i thought she could have done better with it.

It was so totally awesome ,i could not put it down .

I am so in love with Trehan he is so dreamy and just all around awesome ,i can't believe what he had to put up with , i mean i would totally been different if i were in his place .

I didn't mind Bettina at times but for the most part i just wanted to slap some sense into her ,i mean you kepted trying to get with someone who dosn't want you at all over someone who is pretty much already madly in love with you ? i just didn't get her , but over all i liked that she finally told Trehan how she felt ,so i was glad that he got what he wanted (Her) , they had some spicey scenes together .

I loved all of the Ddaciano Cousin's they were all funny and i can't wait to see what happens with them :)

Over all i loved this book and i can not wait for the next one (YAY) (^_^)

I read a few fantasy / paranormal / magic romances in December: First, The Princess Bride by William Golden was very good - very similar to the movie, although I actually liked the movie better. The "story-within-a-story" structure was interesting and well-done, I thought, although the author's asides were occasionally annoying. I didn't much care for the "first chapter of Buttercup's Baby" however.

A few holiday shorts were a bit of a mixed bag: Kissing Kris Kringle by Erin Quinn, the first in the Sexy Secret Santas series, was very good - a cute story, with a bit of magic, and well done within the short story framework. I did wish it was longer, but mainly because I liked the story and the characters. Quinn's Christmas Wish by Lawna Mackie was OK - I again liked the concept of this paranormal historical romance, and the paranormal elements were handled pretty well, but the romance aspect fell somewhat short. I would try another book by this author, however.

The First Love Cookie Club by Lori Wilde, third in the Twilight Texas series, was great and not marred by reading it out of order (yes, I tend to do that with holiday books). I loved both the story and the characters, and i'll be reading more of the series.
