    Blog Page

I have been thinking for a long time how we can get maps, plans, pictures etc for our group so I have made a blog which you can all access and post things on.
    it is at:
    http://arthurianknightsride.blogspot.com/
I have placed the Early Tradition genealogy and the Late Tradition but they are not very clear, so if anyone knows how to get them clearer please paste them in. I have posted the site page address so you can see them. i tried drawing them but blog does not have tools to make lines and each time you save it bunches the plan together.
As you can see i am still learning how this works so I hope it is ok for you all.
At the bottom of the page is three synopsis of books about Glastonbury and its relation to Arthur
    1. Arthurian Glastonbury by Geoffrey Ashe
    2. Ictis and Avallon by C.R. Davey Biggs
    3. Glastonbury:Ancient Avalon by Anthony Roberts Rider, 1977
    With pictures.
I also am just about ready to post about Merlin and the Black knight who is the boy Merlin has bought up as a knight to defend Camelot when Arthur dies.

I also have made another blog but this is History and will assist this group but also the Sagas group, Bernard Cornwell group.
I have started with pre-history so I could do a piece on Stonehenge and I have just about finished the Celts. I am then going on to post the Romans and so on through history. Again if anyone has info or feels the groups will benefit please post

I have also started a book chat one and that will be opening this week.
    Hope they are helpful

Thank you Bookwormerin, we just needed a place to post pictures etc so we can understand Arthur easier as his genealogy is very confusing from the different books and time periods. Sometimes it is easier if you see them

Thank you Pete. This week I have added the idea of the main characters of the arthurian legends being Celtic gods and goddesses in their original tellings.
I have also added a post about Arthur in popular pictures and movies using the Pre-Raphaelite Arthurian paintings but extended it to the Pre-Raphaelite Sisterhood to give us background to Victorian attitude to women for a reading of the Idylls sometime, but also some thoughts on how the women are treated in the Arthurian legends that are reflected in Victorian society. I have also added a piece about the cult of red hair as we had a discussion about this in a previous post. It is not strange therefore that our heroines are either blonde or redheads, and our villainesses are dark haired. Like Morgan and Viviene while Guinevere is blonde and Morgause is a redhead. Rossetti painted Mary with the grail cup as a rehead.
