The only people for us are the bored ones, the ones who are too bored to live, too bored to talk, too bored to be saved, too bored to desire anything, the ones who always yawn and fade, fade, fade, like fabulous yellow roman candles dying like spiders across the stars and in the middle you see the faint blue centerlight pop and everybody goes "Awww!”
Well, yes, they are nothing like Jack Kerouac's characters, they're more like Antoine Roquentin, like Meursault, like Cioran, they reject life as life rejects them - strangers in a strange land, hardly a model for anybody, bored beyond limits.
We are here to talk about them, all those useless people and their meaningless lives. We are here to praise them and understand them because we are them: too bored to live, but never too bored to read.
