I recommend reading Michael Connelly mystery and thriller books, I advice you to read in order. He is very good; I never read anything by him that I didn’t like.

I must have been really tired when I read your post and missed the “don’t”. Maybe you could tell us what it is that you like to read, that way it would be easier to make a suggestion.

I haven't read any of these except 'Garden Spells' by Sarah Addison Allen, but I really enjoyed that one. I'll look out for the others.

I would suggest "Charleston" and also "Leaving Charleston" , a saga AFTER the civil war. They are full of southern traditions. Both are by Alexandra Ripley.

I recommend the CHERUB book series ( read them in order 1-6). They are very entertaining and very well written. I also recommend the Strongbow Saga ( read them in order 1-3). The series only has three books, but they are awesome. CHERUB is by: Robert Muchamore. The Strongbow saga is by: Judson Roberts. They are both awesome authors. Their books are very entertaining if you are bored.

Flowers for Algernon is a great book but I preferred the short story to the novella. It's one of the best short stories ever written; every part of it is significant and incredibly emotional.

Hi people, I'm so glad that you replied to my question. Also thanks for suggesting all these books for me. I'm currently reading The Diary of a Young Girl (Ann Frank) and its really good and I suggest it to everyone. I have currently listed all the books you have suggested me and I'll probably start reading those books after I finish the book I'm currently reading. Thanks again for your suggestions and if you have any more keep on suggesting it to be and I'll add them on to my list!

the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld was also good, (although, i've only read the first one). It's a mixture of a lot of things, and they are very well written. you should read them if you haven't already.

Have you ever read Stuart Woods? He is a great author, not overly wordy and he keeps you on your toes, really hard to figure out. Just when you think you have it, he goes another way. Great Summer read, not exactly "light and fluffy" but real page turners. I hate to admit this but he has chapters you can read at a red light and I know because I've done it! LOL

Try Chiefs, White Cargo, Palindrome (my favorite), Santa Fe Rules, Under The Lake; he also has a few series with Stone Barrington, Holly Barker, & Will Lee.

If you like historical fiction, I can recommend any book by Phillipa Gregory or Anya Seton. I just finished 2 excellent books about the American Civil War --- SHADES OF GRAY by Jessica James and MY DEAREST CECELIA by Diane Haegar. I have just recently read some books about WW II -- THE NAZI OFFICER'S WIFE and THOSE WHO SAVE US by Jenna Blum.

My daughter is a huge reader so I will suggest titles she has devoured this summer:
The Book of 100 Truths by Julie Schumacher (She has two other titles that look good, The Chain Letter is one of the two.
    Honey, Baby, Sweetheart
    Shug
The City of Ember (this one begins a trilogy)
Have you ever read any Joey Pigza by Jack Gantos? These are funny and sad. Start with Joey Pigza swallows the Key.

Most of my book recommendations are going off of the titles you have on your shelf and it looks like you are not yet reading adult fiction

Have you ever thought of reading the Anne of Green Gables series - wonderfully written and then you can watch the BBC adapation of it on DVD (it's one of our favorites)

I myself am wanting to read the Twilight series - I've heard nothing but great things about it from the students I work with.

    Happy Reading!

Hope some of these titles help you out.

Not knowing what type book you like, it's hard to make suggestions. For ideas, I would suggest doing a search by topic on Amazon or put in some books you liked and it will give you suggestions for similar type books.

Another suggestion is to look through the "50 Book Challenge" lists and see what titles come up most that interest you.

Finally, I suggest to look up other books by authors that you like.

    Hope this helps.
